@@JurassicCollectables my pleasure mate. I contacted the management, was told funds include display cabinets but building work always goes over budget by a lot, I'm surprised. Anyway, she continued to say they may need temporary display cabinets for the mobile museum or something and said this is similar to what's needed, so you obviously did well conceiving and making these. Watching you strip the plastic lining of the acrylic in that vid I was thinking if you remembered the other side haha :') why did you cover the display from the left where the door is may I ask? :)
@JurassicCollectables
3 жыл бұрын
@@clevelandexplorer2221 Yes fortunately I removed the film from both sides - its quite hard to see through the blue plastic so you can't miss it really. But I did skip both sides in the video doh! I covered the end of the display to make it feel more of an enclosed cabinet. I could have glazed it like the front but once it's stained I think it will add a bit of class to an otherwise industrial style racking... that's the hope anyway!

Perhaps another option with lighting I might look at is drill a small hole in shelf boards where you want the lights and pre-lay wiring up and under the above carpet/fabric before gluing it down and out the back. I image the fabric is thick enough you won't see it under it.

Great question - I'll be using it to support heavy resin statues so I hope so. If you think about it's purpose - racking is quite often used for heavy tools or equipment so I think it should do the job. If in doubt check the weight limit on the specs for the racking you choose

Yes - the height and number of shelves is completely how you build it, so you can accommodate any height within the racking upper limit. I see the Prime 1/3 scale is approx 105cm for Superman, the racking is 180cm tall in total, so you'd have roughly 60-70cm left spare.
