In your Sunday stream this week you mentioned lavender bags for yarn stashes to keep away the buggies.... You should totally make some pouches yourself!! You can get bulk lavender pretty inexpensive and then sew lil pouches with a pillow case or scrap fabric, and use some braided yarn for the strings to cinch the bag up!

yeah, having been sewing for years, the fear of cutting wrong just does not go away for some of us. What I have found helpful is to add an extra 1/4" to the seam allowances. It at least buffers against the worry of cutting too small. And I have tried to refocus my mind that a misscut is not a waste cause it can always be used for something else. And I keep all my scraps for stuffing plushies I make. ^_^

Yay! I’m glad that you are getting into sewing and now sharing what you’re working on. I definitely feel more comfortable with sewing than with knitting, but I’m always working on getting better at both 😊 It's always amazing to see finished products and the magic of making! Also, no judging should be allowed on using bedsheets...I think we've all done it, and it still looks great!

You picked the perfect sewing machine! I'm a seamstress by trade and that's the machine I use at home. It's a good all rounder, like you said. Quick tip; snip your threads after every seam/stitches. The cleaner you work, the easier to sew a pattern. If not it's like weaving in the ends you can't always find 🙃

Don't be so hard on yourself love, if you feel good wearing it then you did it right. Literally so proud of you and your makes. Good luck!

The dresses came out super cute omg!! I would absolutely love to make the wrap crop top version for myself 💖💖Tbh sewing was super intimidating to me when I first started out (been sewing on and off for about 10yrs) but the more things you make, whether its garments or other little projects, the more comfortable you get and more you learn! Sewing with thrifted bed sheets/fabrics is one of my favorite ways to learn and develop skills since I'm not as nervous about ruining a make with thrifted materials vs more expensive fabrics. And it's a great way to reduce waste/recycle. Can't wait to see what else you sew!

Oh, and also I want to suggest my two favourite patterns for you to try 🤗 The first is the Ogden Cami, she is super easy and would look really good in your blue fabric. And if you are feeling a little mire advanced and want a bigger project: I think you would loove the sapporo coat. I did at least 🤗

I have been cutting and taping the paper pieces I printed today and 😅😂 so fun! Lol it's prob the cutting on the line and lining stuff, it's the inner kid stuff. But I'm srsly already doubting myself. Ugh I can't wait to get better at this! So far I got scrunchie and tablet sleeve in the bag.
