The bass who bites these baits are the equivalent of the ppl you see in horror movies who hear a sound in the spooky barn at like 4am and are like "I think I'll go investigate, in my PJs- armed with no weapon, or common sense." Even the dog is like "Oh hell no, I aint going in there..." they always run off- leaving our hero to be like "Well how odd, ... " - you know no one is doing that in reality. I live on a 60-acre ranch in the Appalachian Mountains- I'm in my fifties and don't believe in ghosts or ghouls or anything else supernatural- but if I hear something in the barn at 4am and ole red won't go run it off- you want to leave it alone, trust me. Redbones aint scared of nothing, they'll go in a hole after a cat like a streak of lightening- no hesitation- and often get killed. If they don't want to mess with it- I don't want to mess with it. And if I saw that thing in the water- I wouldn't want to mess with it. I'd swim the opposite direction as quickly as I could. Bass don't care though- if it moves and it will fit in their mouth- it's dinner.
