Beautiful knife my friend. I think this is my favorite set of scales I've seen you do or the short glimpse of them was at any rate. What is the wood ?

Cool video. Could you tell me if you've found a better brand of rasps for knife making? I'm interested in using them but I know some can be case hardened.

I hope you don't mind a small critique about your video, definitely not about your knife making skills though. Perhaps you could put a link to a list of materials you use (different sand papers, glues, finishes) and then we could follow along and watch your skills instead of trying to write down what sanding paper you're using or the JB Weld you're putting on it.. The video itself was great, the speed is not a problem but, when I'm trying to write down what you're using and for what part of the knife you're using it on, I end up making a shoehorn or something totally different than what you're making..

I have been told that some farrier rasps are case hardened. Do you check your rasps . If so could you comment on how. Thanks again for all your help.

It's a KMG Belt Grinder. If you google "KMG Belt Grinder" you can click on the first website it pulls up.

Is there a reason why you didn't anneal the file before cutting into knife shape? Just wondering.
@theriversexperience9383

I made about 4-5 knives from this one Rasp and I like to only anneal what I'm using in the moment. The files cut just as easy with an angle grinder and cut off wheel whether they are annealed or not.

The designs are from my own, the materials that I put them on to make them into templates are just 1/4" sheets of wood from lowes.
