New fishing lure video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/o4el3J-Ehn97mY4

I've had other BPM baits kzitem.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!

This is the way the original fishing spoon was originally made and that is why they are called spoons. Visualize a spoon then cut the spoon off the handle and throw the spoon end away. Then cut the handle off about 1.5 inches from the bent end where the spoon was attached. Then round off the four corners and drill a 1/8" hole at each end. Then put a small split ring through the bent end and attach a small treble hook to the split ring. Then attach a swivel to the other end to tie your fishing line too. It is has the best action of any spoon ever invented. There is a company in Pennsylvania that manufactures them and call them the "THOMAS EEL".

I'd say this one started being a spoon, but then when it got filled in with resin and wood, etc, and became a body, it turned into a lure. All that the original metal shape is then doing, is adding weight and a hard side.

In fact a young lady that worked with me wanted me to make earrings out of the smallest Buoyant lures and she sold about a dozed of them in one day. So I ordered a thousand of them and my wife and I took off the hooks and put pierced earring hooks on them and sold all of them to a large department store and they sold very well.

Great craftmanship! One thing a don't understand are why you use aluminium sheet as a base but then basecolor the lures in white? Why dont just dip it raw, smooth it out and then paint? Anyway you made some nice spoons!

Hello! It's a simple mold which anyone can make at home. The gray material is called chemical metal. We'll show how to make one in the next video which shouldn't take to long to come out.

@howtostance4610

Thank you. Any type of metal sheet works, because the metal string is connected using the holes. You can buy 0,8 mm copper from ebay. The wood is balsa, but you can also use cork wood.

Hello. Other metals work too. Copper is just easier to mold since it's quite soft.

why do you have the eyes on the hook side of the lure?
@howtostance4610

You can choose the side you add eye/eyes to, if you do. It really doesn't matter. Mostly for the looks.
@zzz7zzz9

An eye dot has been added to the rear of a lure for eons. Many fish want to eat their prey head-first, and with alot of lures, they will side-strike, which can lead to foul-hooking them. Trout can be especially bad for that. A rear-placed eye gives them a target, which is near the hook.

How would I fish this style of spoon jig it slow reel ?
@howtostance4610
5 жыл бұрын
Two methods: 1. In very low water, slowly winding, so that the spoon stays on the surface. 2. In deep water, letting the spoon slowly sink (like a half dead fish), then wind it up and let it sink back down again.

It doesn't really matter, we used a resin that hardens a little faster. Even hot glue works, but then you have to be fast.
