That blade is a beast and I really like the finish. That rough look just looks right.

Really love this! Very unique and cool. One thing I recommend for the future is to use a tapered hand reamer to ream your holes slightly after drilling. It’ll give your pins more room to mushroom in the holes for a better hold. I did this on some peened brass bolsters and it was so strong, you couldn’t move them at all. I love peened handles and bolsters, wish more people did this.

Could you put a thin coat of epoxy on the guard between the blade and guard befor you pin it to keep dirt and water from getting under it sort of a weather seal

Beautiful work. Question… if I want to have the guard stick out in both directions not just sharpened side of blade, how would someone go about doing that? Thanks

Can't remember what it's called but do you prefer that rotary tool 🆚 Dremel 🤔. I've never done a guard before, I'm gonna try this style 😁👍 thanks man love that bowie

Yeah, I like the rotary tool way better. It's easier to use especially with the foot pedal.

How do you get a close tight fit between the guard and handle scales?

Just make a template out of paper and then follow those lines.

The guard looks very cool! Are those brass pins you’re going to peen it on with or was that just me eyes?
