Making beautiful things with your own two hands gives so much peace in this fast world. Your books are made with love and care. You don’t need loud, flashy, bright effects, you don’t need to chat, to talk, to advertise. We sit and watch and are in awe. Thank you very much for sharing this piece of art. In times where everything needs to be fast, cheap and easy, I hope we never loose crafty people like you.

I was mighty tired today after hours of work and classes both from home which is indeed affecting my health. I called it a day, started KZitem to watch old Discovery Channel videos in bed on how crisps, chalk, etc are made in factories, that led to watching how they print the NY Times, that led me to you. Watched the first two parts, got up, brewed coffee, watched the remaining 3, amazing mood, rush of energy and now I'm back to my books again. My point is, thank you kindly for these excellent videos and spreading happiness. Best wishes to you

Several years ago, as a spinoff of leather tooling, I began repairing some worn Bibles and tooling the covers. I am of mixed opinion as whether or not I wish I’d seen your series before I did those precious books. On the one hand, you taught me a LOT that I wish I’d had the insights into. On the other hand, if I’d seen the beautiful, skilled work you did here, I may have been too intimidated to attempt it. What little I did learn from others at that time, I learned from an Algerian bookbinding craftsman. I spoke none of his language and he spoke none of mind, but from our non-verbal communications, he understood what I wanted and did a masterful job of showing me enough to get me through my projects. You just showed me a totally different level of skill! Thank you for doing that!

This brings back long forgotten memories and a gratefulness. Mr.Amery was a teacher at my junior school, 9to13 yrs. he taught us art and craft, and bookbinding was one subject, we even marbled our own paper! This brought back happy thoughts and a realisation of the hobbies/ crafts Skills I now use to make a living.....I’m a framer, I glaze copper, I I draw.....and am pretty happy. Thanks mr amery!

what a wonderful journey the past 5 videos have been. Simply delightful. And to those who showed frustration with angles and obstacles, I don't believe this was meant to be instructional. I didn't recognize this as a tutorial, but rather a story. One that inspires and evokes emotion. And from that you take what you wish. Whether just to enjoy it at face value, the creative process resulting in a work of craftmanship; or be inspired to take your own creative journey. Thank you again, FKBA.

Simply wonderful! It must feel like a minor miracle to see a pile of raw material become a finished, handmade book...and then to do it all again. I'm a chef and certain rote/repetitive/mundane tasks are moving meditation to me. One is to clean and julienne an entire case of bell peppers; the mind dissolves into the task, all sense of past and present melding together into just the eternal now. I expect some aspects of book making must be somewhat like that as well.

I really enjoyed the series. I began with the intention to learn one thing but learned other things. From a theological and bibliophilic perspective, it is much like the beginning of creation. The process is a rational, generative potency, a new creation from the likeness and mind of the book's creator. Yet its full potential, promise, and life still lay ahead. Free to wander and wonder, but dependent. Its dependence becomes independent when fully expressed in the words, then its essence becomes communicable and hopefully, fruitful. Thanks, I really enjoyed watching it.
