Today, I’m going to practice forging a knife. I’ll use rebar since it’s a cheap, easily accessible steel. I’m not too concerned about the function of the knife as I am more concerned with furthering my skill and knowledge on making different types of blades. You will see throughout the video that I change direction a few times on this knife. I didn’t really have a plan going in. I originally started to forge out what would have become a spear point blade, but later on I changed my mind. While grinding, I decided to make it a clip point. This knife is not my best work, but I’m happy with the final outcome of this project, even though I wish I had forged more to the shape that I ended up with.
