This community is awesome! 💜 You solved my questions I had in the video so I'll just drop that here for other users: - adding items to different collections: just spin the encoder above "Favorite" to choose the collection(s) and then hit the button (thanks kevinbraiden9142!) - snapping a parameter back to 0 / default: hold the "delete" button and touch the encoder you want to reset (thanks morelricht8013!) - the Ableton template used in this video (which is compatible with Live and Push 3 Standalone) can be downloaded here on my Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/ableton-template-94764909?Link& Any more handy shortcuts? Drop me a comment here, let's share the knowledge. Thanks guys!

I set up a template with instruments and effects racks and use Push to live sample (into clips) various hardware instruments, add more sounds/tracks etc. It works pretty well, it's quite similar to how I use Octartrack. Push 3 standalone software has ways to go still, so I tend to use it in controller mode with a laptop.

Oh that's interesting! I've heard from a few people now that are considering switching their OT for Push Standalone in the future. But agree with you that the software still has ways to go. But I'm assuming it's a device they will support over years with firmware updates (like Elektron does) to make this machine really shine.

I’ve seen a lot of people talking about updates that would be great and “for now it can’t blank” on every video. Has the push 3 actually gotten any firmware updates??
@MilesKvndra

It has, however some of the basic UX design issues like the LFO being not assignable haven’t been addressed. However, I have to mention that I didn’t try the most recent Push 3 update they released for Ableton Live 12

Hi Miles, I am a big fan of your music and your videos, thanks for sharing all these! One practical question, how is the stability in standalone mode and especially with sequencing external gear? I am considering buying the Push 3 standalone (found a great deal for 1500 including suite 12) and pairing it up with my OB6 desktop. Reason I ask is that there were a lot of complaints when the device was just out. So wondering where we stand after almost a year of updates.

Hey, thanks for the lovely feedback! I have to say so far I've only used it in standalone mode for sounddesign and one time with a small project where I had the Sub 25 connected via USB for MIDI. This worked great and I didn't experience any glitches while sequencing it. I also used for my last live gigs the Push 3 as an audio&midi interface which also worked super smooth without any issues.

Inspiring to see you working on it already, even if you’ve only had it a few days. Early in the video you show the effects on the master track that are applied just to the melodic elements. How did you set this up? Surely the drums go through the master track too? Eagerly awaiting your future Push 3 videos, and how you get it hooked up with your other gear.

Thanks a lot Smerin! I'm actually planning a video on that for the future but basically it's a mix of Map 8 and MultiMap M4L devices that are grouped in an Effect Rack and control multiple sends on the 8 instrument groups in the template. You can find a blueprint with the mappings here on Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/ableton-template-94764909?Link&

I would like to see you making a full track (maybe 3 minutes long) only with push 3 and it's devices like wavetable without using pc. Let's see it like a challange. @fpsoundpacks

Happy new year for you as well, thank you. Yes, the track from the video does have already potential. Has something of recondite. At least it reminds me of the style. I would also get the Push 3 if, technically speaking, it had the same potential as the Elektron sequencer. Ess from fors has almost done it with the opal synth. He may have received approval from elektron to do so. If push could do something like that, it would already be the heart on my desk. Although I would then no longer need a desk (PC screen, etc.). It should also be very comfortable on the couch ;) @@MilesKvndra

Oh maaaan this look so fun. The sound you achieved is so goood. I can see where there are some limitations, but it's the sort of thing that, in standalone, would encourage me to just move onto the next thing and get the basics of a whole song started. I could see myself being very productive with this. I'm getting one. For sure.

It is just so much better on Push 3 than on Push 2. But I don’t really understand why Ableton doesn’t implement this on Push 2 better. Yes, it doesn’t have the jogwheel but you could use one of the encoders in clip mode for that.
@billpayer3745
9 ай бұрын
It's implemented so badly on Push 2, I thought I was doing something wrong at first. It's also so badly implemented, and this is the real workflow killer for me, that I sometimes end up gravitating to the mouse to edit midi!
