After a year with the knife, using it every day, I have to say that we absolutely love it. Perfect gift for my wife (uhh, and me too!) It has a lot of character to it now, but still doing the job so well. Keep up the good work. I got a little utility knife from you this year and it'll be a great addition to the knife drawer.

After you hand sand the handle in multiple directions doesn’t the spine of the blade get scratched up? How do you fix it?

The spine does get some scratches, once I’m done finishing the handle I go back over it with a trizact belt to clean everything up. 😃

That makes sense. But when you do isn’t the spine a little rounded? I have trouble hitting the spine and not the handle when I try it on my grinder.

I round the handle all the way up to the steel so that when I go back to polish it up I’m only touching the steel.

Did the hamon not work out? Knife looks great, was just curious what happened to the hamon. 🔪

Thank you! Yeah I wasn’t seeing much hamon activity after grinding the scale off so I didn’t bother etching it. I’m pretty sure it was because my clay fell off during quench. It still got differentially hardened, but just didn’t have much hamon. I am working on two blades now that are much more promising! I’ll be posting those on Instagram probably.
