Been watching a bunch of your rocketry videos. I see you are using nylon chutes which is good, but recovery systems failure to deploy, failure to deploy correctly (tangled), or failure to deploy at all, can be attributed improper stowage. To achieve a higher success ration I suggest the following two tips. 1) carefully dust the chute with talcum powder prior to launch. Be sure to make sure some of the powder ends up between the tube and the cone to assure a clean separation. 2) To avoid tangles, be sure to carefully fold the chute into pie sections and then cure, wrapping the string around the chute very carefully. Combined with the powder, this will avoid the tangles and assure full deployment almost 100 percent of the time.

You need to get yourself a SkyRC GSM020. It works with GPS/GNNS and is far more accurate and smaller/lighter than the one you have. Pretty stable all the time with 12 Satellites and will read up to 29000ft. If you want to try one first I have a spare.

your GPS cant calculate vertical speed well, because if im right it measures speed by calculating how far the GPS unit goes in a certain amount of time, using satellites. you could use a camera at a certain framerate to calculate it by seeing how far it travels in however many frames

I'm always conflicted about T.I. : he covers interesting topics in great depth, which I like, but something about the delivery is generally boring as s---!!!
