Those colors and the mood of the painting are so vibrant on emotions. Love the result and as about the thoughts on returning to art I will agree to all and I keep reminding to myself that the main purpose of us doing art is to heal and keep our soul happy! All other progress and stepping up to a better version of yourself as an artist will come along the way. Just don't forget the reason you are painting when you do!

Sometimes long breaks when nothing is really working helps in a way. It’s like letting your brain the time to process what you’ve worked on and learned before, letting it maturing. From the moment I started to stop making me feel guilty about not practicing and taking it as an opportunity to let my brain do his job, I could come back to painting (or anything else for that matters) way easier. « The break is a step which will let me access to the next level, fully recovered » kinda mindset. Still, micro-studies can be done anytime. But it has to be short and easy. Be gentle with yourself guys. Artists are tortured enough, at least, be your own friend..

@@Pasleedropainting wise words! agreed completely. i wrote this video from a place where boring life things (classes, work, exams, etc) pulled me away from spending time on my art, but between the times you are working, rest is key!

Hey man I am following you Instagram since the start of the year. I didn't know you had a channel, but thanks for giving me more content to listen to while I'm drawing. It seems like you were experiencing fear of failure and probably still do, but I'm glad you didn't quit and gave up on something you are passionate about. Art is so much more than just having good technical abilities, but it is understandable if you struggle to be motivated if the idea you wan't to portray doesn't translate well on the canvas. It takes a while to be able to gather confidence, so doing the small warm ups is the way to go. But if you are unable to maintain balance like I did before, the burnout reaches really quickly and you end up in the same situation, even worse. I am looking forward to see what you have to say in future videos. Keep it up!

very true words, yep "fear of failure" encapsulates the issue perfectly (for me). and yes, art is absolutely more than technical skill, but it's kinda scary to lose that when what you do hinges so heavily on that :') however I'm sure it's something that subsides with growth. thank you for listening btw!
