A lot of these motivational videos say "Find something you're good at, do it, and the money will follow." This is an example. Machine work is something he is good at (my Dad has been doing machining for YEARS!) and he decided to one day to make rings and now he has a business doing what he enjoys. A video I watched said some young man enjoyed mowing lawns. Everyone said he wasn't going to make a 'living' doing that and he should get a regular job. He was offered a position to maintain the landscape for a Football stadium earning over 2 million dollars a year... He was good at mowing lawns, he kept doing it, and now look at him.

Billy Rowe Its true... Even regular tradesman machinists can make upwards of $20 USD an hour or more. Journeyman programmers can make upwards of $40 USD an hour and then some. Although those super high paying positions are generally reserved to the realms of "contract programmers". I've seen some of those guys easily bring in six figure incomes annually, and that's not even if they're working all year round and take a fair amount of time off. Which by the way, they can pretty much do whenever they want since their workload and hours are completely determined by their own drive and desire. Well of course their local/regional industry market needs have a roll in this too, but almost all of the guys I know in this particular profession travel nationwide for work when necessary. Unfortunately this particular niche in the trade is a dying breed, since its much more common practice these days for shops of all sizes to put full-time, dedicated programmers on the payroll as opposed to farming out all that work to specialized third parties at a much higher overhead cost. Still, journeyman programmers remain the highest paid positions in the trade and until the birth of "Strong AI" the only positions with any real job security. Meaning that any computerized machine will still need that human element to tell it what to do until they (the machines) can tell themselves what to do.

You have many ideas... you know what you're doing... and you're great at it. I think you're ready to take this to the next level... Selling these BIG time using all websites. These videos are a GREAT example of how much hand-labor work go into these rings. You need to take this 'business' to the next level. You're VERY ready buddy. I'm impressed with your designs and your very hard and thorough work to getting these perfect. You take absolutely no shortcuts. It is literally time you go BIG with this stuff. These rings are becoming very next level stuff.

I find the ring to be especially gorgeous! Now personally if it had been me, I would've had added something between the superconductor and the timascus, the two materials have an odd clash which looks nice, but at the same time there's sooo much going on to look at, I think it takes away from the overall look of the ring. That being said, I really enjoyed the video! And the ring does look very pretty, I love the etch done on it, and I always love to see timascus being used as a decorative material, because I often see it go unappreciated
@Krisszhu1990
6 жыл бұрын
Nice work, but the centre drill is not made for drilling through the material, its just for starting, and then switch to an actual drill, get a carbide drill and it will be a much smoother hole. Cheers.

Cool process, and definitely seems like you could use that process for a number of things in the future, but the colors don't really work too well together on this ring and it looks kinda ugly. Love the plain timascus and plain superconductor, but combining them with these colors doesn't look too great. Might look better if the copper on the super conductor was somehow made to appear more as a darker/cooler color.
