That is a lot of hard work. And it looks very nice too! As you say, it might not be so expensive to get rock delivered, but at the end, it's rewarding doing it by ourself. This or going to the gym... I prefer working in a field, by far! To have a better surface finish (ref. mark of 6:45), I also use the bottom/back of the bucket and slide it against loose material to smooth it out as I can. I does compact the loose material. Thanks!

I've done what you describe when I need a smooth cut-out. For this particular job, the biggest benefit would have been from lifting out the material cleanly for a good edge, rather than stuff falling through the teeth back into the ditch and a ragged edge along the grass. Thanks, Joe.

Great job on the road it looks great I wish i had the equipment you do i only have a old back hoe im fixing a mile and s half of old logging road We have alot of old stone femces thank god i put all the rocl in the muddy spots to stiffin them up Btw here they put the big stones on the outside and filled the centre with the smaller rocks
