I think “the Dimensionality of the Fish” needs to be put on a t-shirt design! 😂 I love that design! The half shell fins are genius! It’s such a beautiful finished piece, it reminds me of Cartier’s jewellery from the thirties and forties that featured onyx and coral. Awesome work!

@@TheClosetHistorian I’m constantly blown away by the pieces they created - their Mystery Clocks are just awesome! There was a display of their work at the British Museum in the late 1990’s that I visited. Just incredible work - and definitely your style, I reckon! (I recommend seeking out the book of the exhibition!)

@@creepycutiecrafty I was lucky enough to be interning at the Denver Art Museum while they were getting their Cartier exhibition together, so I spent several days researching different pieces. Then I got to go to the opening of the exhibition and walk through it several times, so I have that coffee table book for sure! theclosethistorian.blogspot.com/2014/11/brilliant-cartier-in-20th-century.html

@@TheClosetHistorian that is so cool! You’re very lucky indeeed! I was always blown away with their carved emerald pieces - when you realise how brittle emerald can be it’s doubly impressive (I trained as a jewellery designer/craftperson, so I got to learn that side of it!) I feel that Cartier became a lot less interesting once that design side dropped off. Not that I’d turn down a piece if it were offered to me though! 🤣

These are so beautiful. Can imagine the background satin draped in a glass topped glass box display coffee table with all different beaded koi as a decorative accent in a living room. Love working with beads and felt and I wonder if you were able to design koi kits that could be assembled by others and sold as hobby kits if you could get an income as the initial designer of the kit. These could be as you said used for so many decorative purposes. You are a wonderful designer and teacher and if you could design kits that others could do the assembly work for it would be wonderful for you if you could get a nice income for it while you go on to create other dreams!

Io non mi fermerei alle spille ma la tridimensionalità mi porta ad immaginare di poterle riportare su stoffa. Non sarebbero affatto pesanti su una pochette. Quando la 3D fosse più attenuata, oserei su un obi belt rosso lacca. Complimenti. Credo che duplicherei senza dubbio il progetto. A me piace molto la multicolore.
