It all started with some stripey fabric found at a charity shop and a sketch for a summer dress. The project may have been dormant for a year or so (and the editing of this video may have been on the back burner for an additional couple of months), but now it has finally come to fruition. So follow along as I create the summer dress of my dreams!
This was my first time using a McCall's pattern, and I'm really happy with the end result. With a little bit of pattern hacking, it turned out to be exactly the right match. Printing the patterns out, cutting them and taping them together took quite a while (not shown in this video because it was quite tedious), but after that the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Plus, the seam allowance is already calculated into the patterns (unlike most finnish sewing patterns), and that was a big relief for me. Actually, I've already bought three more digital McCall's patterns for future projects... So hit that subscribe button to stay tuned for more sewing videos!
