I thought when you emptied your pockets, you was going to throw a grinder, King size rolling papers etc in the box ...... my bad 😂😂😂

Nice box. If you want to ebonies oak you should try vinegar. You put some rusty nails or wire wool in it. I know sounds mad.. But it works. It has a reaction with the tannin in the oak. Paint it on and watch as the oak turns black. It works on other woods but depending on the tannin content or the wood. Beech for instance will go a darker brown. Cheers Dave

Nice build! Got a suggestion for a project - how about a swing-out stool for the workshop? I do miss your comfy chair by the fire, and I know you would build something interesting, elegant, and perhaps a bit melancholy. Finished in danish oil?

Like the box but not a fan of the India Ink as I love oak and like to see the grain pop through. If I was going to use the ink I would have used a cheaper wood or I would have used an Osmo colour finish as it lets the grain show. However this is your box and your design, well done and thanks for sharing might have a go with my box joint jig.

Beautiful box. Thanks for sharing the video how you made it. I need something like this already for three hundred years or so. @SMee67
4 жыл бұрын
@@Badgerworkshop Absolutely without a doubt quicker. I thought in keeping with the finger joints because they are quite strong, and considering your jig cuts fingers larger than you wanted, that perhaps the table saw might be an option. May take a bit longer, but the results are worth it, i think.
