❤❤ 😅😅 your lectures are awesome bro, but you've got an accent which is not easy to intercept & even subtitles aren't accurate. Please consider taking classes on American accent. Thank you.

I love the part where he said: “It’s Cubin’ time.” and proceeds to cube ‘em all

Poor Tom (Explosions & Fire), everyone's just memeing and flexing on his Cubane series now; I wonder if there's ever been a more (in)famous synthesis series on chemistry youtube? 😂 Excited to see this series though, holy shit! I loved the minecraft edit at the very start lol, too

To be fair, Tom is using otc chemicals and doing his chemistry in a shed. It's a bit more challenging.

Dr. Tom is a saint! Sadly, history doesn't remember who tried it first, but typically remembers who was the first one to do it successfully.

Can't wait to see the big scale bromination! Keep up the good work. This is really satisfying for the academia chemists with our umol scales

You can thank one of my subscribers for that. Without him i would not have had the pleasure of obtaining such a great pump for a good price. I am very thankful for that.

Great video! Everything is good, but using a glass pipette for loading the refractometer is a bad practice. :)

though it's got a relatively high boiling point, xylene is more efficient at removing water by azeotropic distillation than benzene or toluene - it forms an azeotrope that consists of 60% xylene and 40% water, that boils at 92 °C at atmospheric pressure (under vacuum it's also very good for concentrating peroxide solutions, just saying like)
@THYZOID
Жыл бұрын
we want the reaction temperature to be as low as possible so xylene is a bad idea. maybe for another project though so thank you!

@THYZOID

the benzene i distilled off before the vacuum distillation will be reused. what ended up in the cold trap will be burned with all my other solvent waste
