After watching this video and struggling with some of the issues that the DeArmond's discuss, I am given hope for my own marriage of almost 25 years. My wife and I married later than most and already had our beliefs and expectations of married life set into semi-solid concrete. We have spent time together and with outside assistance to break down the serious initial issues and work toward the interactions and mind sets that the DeArmond's talk about. I am looking forward to getting this book so I can read it with my wife as we tune up going into our 25th anniversary year.

This was so good. I love the part about accepting the season we are in and learning to be flexible within that. I also needed that reminder about not keeping score... that will never help the marriage.

Very helpful.. Got some ideas to be more intentional with my wife. I have let too many days go by not her know how lucky I am.

Min 16 to 17. Ron cooked. He cleaned. And left notes. He's a Darling!!! Praise God for the Gift of the Holy Spirit, Love being chief, covering over a multitude of sins. Amen!! Beautiful Example of Loyalty in Marriage around min 20. "Dad, she doesn’t even remember who you are." (But i remember who she is...what she means to me). This teared me up too!! Thanks, Deb!! You are more heart-sy than you probably realize!! Praise God!!! Truly enjoyed this conversation. I need to watch again & take notes!! God Bless you!!!!

How not to get bitter over reciprocation: realize that due to God's design our wives will never love us in the way we expect them to love us. Remember that we can never fully reciprocate God's love back to God. Our job as husbands is to love our wives as Christ loves the church. Our wives' job is to submit to us.

Huh. You make singleness sound awfully attractive.

Singleness is a blessing. Jesus and Paul recommend it over marriage. That being said it's important for those who are married to make it work. God's plan is the most optimal.
