I believe that everything in its place, African music = African footwear, North American aborigines = music according to the proper traditions for me is basic respect. I can sound very traditional, but living in Canada and being South American I think. It's just my humble point of view. The video with your voice and more footage would be very good and as an immigrant I respect the effort to communicate in a foreign language. "The only way to improve something is to teach not just criticize."

I have a pattern similar to this. I got it at Tandy leather factory. I like this one better. Ithank you for posting this video. I will now modify my pattern so I can make a moccasin like this one. I do bead but for someone who does not bead you did a nice job.

Question, at 6:33 you can see both shoes. Why do the insides by the big toe seem to be higher than the outside of the shoe? If you don't mind PM me your answer? Thanks

Real good info. I agree with Serena Capistrano. I have recently lost vision in 1 eye so the large type and longer time to read it was very helpful. The still shots taken seemed out of focus, that could be my lack of vision. Thank you.

The beauty of making your own Moccasins is that you can style them any way you want. So YES you can cut around the heel or even cut the front shorter. Be as creative as you want, most of all have fun.

-we LOVE LOVE this video-couple ??'s: do you think a group of 8-10yr olds could make these & is there an online store where I could find the materials (leather, hole punchers) that you recommend? I would imagine they would also like to bead the tops so is there a different type of leather that should be used? if you have a particular book to recommend-that too would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Nofindausename The pattern you bought from Tandy Leather is more than likely the same one I started with. Yes as you found out one Pattern can be use to make a modify pattern and a whole new style of moccasins. So let the creative juices flow. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different color leather. If there is a way for you to post the finishes Moccasins, that would be great, good luck

you could stand on a piece of heavy paper or real light weight cardboard (like the stuff they use packing a new dress shirt) and trace out the size and shape of your foot. when cutting out be sure to leave enough hang over or extra edging for your seams. actually make sure when making your pattern that you leave enough edging for all of your seams.

for anyone wanting a pattern for these? i made some fleece slipper socks for christmas gifts one year for family and friends. you can find patterns at fabric stores or probably on line. then you can adapt them to fit various sized feet. all you need is the basic pattern then just enlarge or make smaller.
