Very poetic and true. Shelving turned out simply beautiful and the unfinished look is pleasing.

Really enjoyed your voiceover and message in the intro. Woodworking is available as a hobby and obsession to so many more people if they would just drop the idea that they need a jointer and planer.

Thanks Robert & yeah you're definitely right - in most instances the only real barriers are the intangible ones that exist in our mind. If you can break them then you're cable of doing most things regardless of what tools etc you have :)

You have much more patience than I have, well done! Also much better eyesight, I don't think I'd be up to doing anything like this now lol! Have you thought about finishes? I know this is another subject completely, in itself a craft in its own right, and I'm no good myself at anything much more than paint, but I think you are a natural & would come up trumps in this area too with a bit of practice. Lots of makers on KZitem to inspire you.

Yeah I 100% agree with you! I played about with having sides and a back to add additional structural rigidity but I ended up keeping the minimalist look; I just think it makes the shelves much less imposing in the space they're in :)

Love everything you make! I wanted to ask you what kind of coat is best for plywood? To get a natural finish that is not to yellow! I am going to make a plywood cabinet 🥰🥰

I'm really into the cerebral quality of your design, it makes for an interesting departure from a lot of other woodworking channels. Also at 7:09 is that from MMU?

I know it's not the point of this video but the Modigliani-esque carved head you had on one of the shelves looked beautiful! Did you make it yourself?
@jmakes3745

I honestly have no idea where it came from or who made it (its perfectly symmetrical though so I'm guessing it must have CNC'd) but you're right its beautiful and definitely makes every pieces its placed on look better haha!

@@jmakes3745 It sure makes furniture pieces shine! Not that your light and airy shelves need any of that…☺️ Well, you've got the skills and the tools, you could make a friend for it (albeit a more organic one)…😉 It must be hard enough to go about being a prop without a neck…😁
