Finest craftsmanship my ass... you have less than 3/8" of hardened steel on that edge it will wear into the hamon in less than 5 years worth of sharpening becoming useless soft steel garbage... no serious knifemaker uses them

It's for tempering, that's what gives the line above the edge in the end. It cause the spine heat slower then the edge. It's what's used in traditional katana forging.

@@Chae4ekPythonесть травление для такого. И как по вашему более 1500лет пользовались железом которое корозирует.? Ухаживатьнадо за ножом. При сравнительно невысокой цене такой стали характеристики для инструмента хорошие. Помнится ранее все железное полировали от мечей до доспехов)

Files are hardened so hard that it becomes brittle thus making it easy to snap but hard to scratch. The reason why its hardened to the point where it easily broken is so that it can work on steel since most steels are hardened (dunked in oil after heating) then softened to the right hardness (oven) and files arent softened to the most durable hardness.

Obvious cut and files are brittle, it's fairly easy to snap them like this (well, not exactly the same way, but you can do it with just your hands) It can happen even if you drop it on solid hard surface

нож из нержавейки из за добавления хрома 10,5-15% не так сохраняет свою остроту как нож из углеродистой стали, да, он нержавеет и более упругий, но и точить его приходится часто

В молодости тоже пытался сделать нож из советского напильника. Но никак не получалось правильно отпустить и закалить. То крошился, то мялся. Нужной твердости не получалось.

Absolutely beautiful this is amazing work. The only complaint I have, and I am not a blade smith so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt, is that I would give it a full tang instead of a rat tail so it is less likely to snap since this is a hunting knife and will most likely go through some tough work. But all in all this is a great knife made by a highly skilled craftsman.
