I use a pasta roller/polymer clay roller to condition clay. I like how the blocks of clay are long and flat. That would make getting it started in a roller a lot easier.

The prompt worked really well, with the yellow base being super effective. I found the different clay properties interesting. The only thing I might have changed... would to have maybe had a pile of the coins glued to the base of the chest as if they'd fallen out when the necklace did. Fab job, well done x

This is the first video I've seen of yours. I work with polymer clay daily. I was so happy to see a review like this on a brand other than the standard brands (sculpey, fimo, etc.). I will definitely be giving Arteza clay a try now! Also, just a tip, that semi-circle blade/scraper is also for scraping up your clay creations like that crown you made. Just hold it at an angle and firmly slide it under your piece and it comes right up, no stretching or finger squishes. ;)

A helpful hint for anyone using super glue, if you're going to be painting it or sanding, instead of having to hold the tiny piece until it's dry, you can sprinkle it with baking soda and the glue dries instantly. It really helps a lot! Thank you for this review, not only was the project really cute, but I'm glad to know this clay is really strong!!
@marifloyd1543

@@BentleyHouseMinis You are very creative and all it takes is to downsize the stuff you dream up, so I am sure you could do well! The 1:144th scale is not as difficult to work with. Also a lot of it is illusion, so one develops an eye for seeing table bases in jewelry findings, flower pots in seed beads, etc. You certainly have that ability. One difference is that one works with tweezers most of the time, but you are used to tweezers, so you would be a natural! :)

OMG - you are so lucky! I have seen a ton of people reviewing Arteza products online and they seem like an awesome brand. I use clay a lot - I would have LOVED to test this out and a few other things. I like your prompt thing - I might try to make a book for my channel, too. I love the way Sculpey metallic clays look and behave so I can't wait to see these and see if they are comparable.I think next time you can get away with doing a very thin layer of clay over the filler pieces - that way you won't have to use whole blocks of clay for fillers. I like the firmness of the clay from what I saw - would love to get my hands on some. Did they give you any transparent clay in this kit??? Transparent clay would be perfect for blending with a tiny amount of the jewel tones to make translucent looking gems. Either that or you could use resin for the actual gems/jewels to give you that gem sparkle. Very interesting final design. It came out really nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@BentleyHouseMinis

Sadly there wasn't any transparent clay in this batch. I double check since a couple people asked about it. It's a great suggestion to Arteza to try it out as I know it is used by a lot of artists! I def suggest trying out the prompts! They are really fun💖💖

Aww, how cute that your daughter snagged the treasure! I do like the price and strength of the Arteza. I made an old-fashioned well hand pump out of sculpey, and the handle broke so easily. Very disappointing. Thinking maybe Arteza may hold up better. And the price? Awesome! As an aside, I was wondering if you had ever tried Ranger Glossy Accents? It's a crystal clear acrylic, or resin, that can be dimensional, or flattened out. It is nice and glossy and also acts as a very strong glue. It needs no UV lights or extended dry time. I use it a lot and I cannot recommend it more highly. It works on everything from paper to metal to glass to plastic. The bottle lasts quite a long time as well and you can layer it for more dimension if desired. Anyway, just a thought for smaller projects if you run out of resin, you can use this instead. I have made an almost invisible repair on ceramic chips with matching craft paint and Glossy Accents. Great results. Anyway, just a thought!

Fyi I've seen others use a brush and water to smooth out the clay to make it really smooth. Plus, you can mold everything first to how you want it to be in the end. Then bake it. That way you don't need to use a knife. That's y there are so many different tools....

Hi Ara, did you find the clay was less likely to squish while working or get finger prints since it’s a little less soft than sculpey III?
@BentleyHouseMinis
5 жыл бұрын
It is a very interesting texture. While you are holding it feels kind of limp but it really holds its shape and you have to purposefully pull on it for it to distort. Typically with sculpey I do have to run a q-tip with some alcohol over it to remove finger prints and fingernail nicks.... but I didn't feel the need to do that with these.
