I thought about getting Clo3D after seeing some of your shorts, but then i saw the ridiculus subscription price of $50/Month (without tax or VAT) or a yearly price of $450/year.

You can do this same kind of thing with Blender cloth sims, although this looks much faster (and probably easier).

@@BigJMC As much as I love Blender it doesn't hold a candle to Clo3D for it's intended use case. Clo3D is an entire fashion design package meant to take you from drafting a pattern all the way to a real life physical item. The cloth simulation capability is only a part of that workflow that wouldn't have much utility without the accompanying tools.

I use some fusion 360 for 3D printing, and I had no idea it was possible to do cloth simulations like this in real time. The fact that the zipper actually works is mind blowing. Fusion has the ability to simulate physical interactions, but it it’s so impossible to understand, and it would take like a month to build a functioning zipper.

Yeah, but clo3d is just this. It's highly specialised for doing digital clothing. It's not a CAD software like fusion.

it has for over 20 years. character animators haven't had to manually animate hair or clothing in quite some time now (except when they wanna achieve very specific shapes). it's done by a separate department

I studied to be a fashion designer and also worked in this program, at first I did not succeed, but then I was the best in the group in this program

Marvelous Designer was so fun to use so when I did use it. Sadly the company never gave my college student licenses so we could only use the program for 1 assignment. It was a good time!

Watched my cousin do something like this for a class he's taking for game programing i think,, and it looks like you have to have a lot of time a patience to do cuz he would get points where the clothes on the charecter wouldn't stick right, or some of the animations he was doing would come out janky and he would have to go back a redo it

@@stephyfung maya, blender and max. We don't make clothes like this. Bcz that makes extra poly. For the sake of optimization we make whole body including the clothes in one mesh
