How does maintenance of the Ferrari figure into the investment? Is an engine out service still a Ferrari norm for that model?

Engine out service hasn't been an thing for Ferrari in a really long time. Since the F430, maintenance on a Ferrari hasn't been very excessive (although the F430 has some expensive issues like the F1 pump). Starting in 2012, all Ferraris come with a 7 year maintenance plan included. Now of course my 2012 458 is beyond those 7 years, but an annual service is roughly $2,500, which isn't bad when you consider registration is $1,700 and insurance is close to $4,000. Sure you could have it serviced by an independent shop and save some money on the service, or do it yourself, but if I am looking at this car from an investment standpoint, paying extra to have it serviced at the dealer is going to increase the potential sale price and number of potential buyers. Sure $8,000 a year in these costs is a lot of money, but the potential returns are in the tens of thousands or even the hundreds of thousands, depending on how long I keep the car. It's all about scale and perspective. Hope this helps.

do you have a preferred lender for these cars?

I usually use my local credit union, with the exception of the Ferrari, which I went through Ferrari Financial.
