Check out Bramble Berry/Soap Queen on one of them Ann Marie shows how to blend with the top, middle and bottoms notes plus she give a great tip on how to use a cotton ball. What she did was put a couple of drops onto a cotton ball with the different fragrances that she wanted to blend and let it sit in a baggie for about 10 minutes. I do this all of the time and this will help you to not use up so much fragrance oil while testing.

I'm new to candle making and you are such an inspiration. I LOVE watching you videos. I've learned so much from you. I've purchased my materials and I have starting testing which is so exciting. Once you decided on the percentage of each fragrance you wanted to add in the bottle, how did you convert the percentage into grams?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo
3 жыл бұрын
Yayy that’s exciting!❤️ And I personally love working with grams, but this can easily be done with working with oz in one less step. They is how I did it: 16 oz = 454 g 454 x 50% = 227g So I knew to use 227 g for each oil in my 50:50 blend. The same thing goes for any combination. Just multiple the total number by the percentage to get the weight 🤍

This is so great. Thank you for making this! Honestly this would make it so much easier. Is there a formula you go off of when figuring out the grams/percentages for each fragrance you want to blend?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo
3 жыл бұрын
I just multiply the total weight needed by the FO% :) 16 oz = 454 g 454 x 50% = 227 And you would literally do this with any ratio blend you want to do! 🤍 Even if it was a 10/30/60 blend of 3 fragrances: 454 x 10% = 45.4 g 454 x 30% = 136.2 g 454 x 60% = 272.4 g 🤍 Oh and then of course in terms about what fragrances to blend and how much percentage I choose for each- it’s usually random/personal preference! For instance when I first started making The DJ, I used 30% mahogany with 70% tobacco, and I changed it because I wanted to smell more mahogany!

What I do is take the bottle fresh from the manufacturer, I use a sharpie and make my first line on the bottle of their fill line. This way I know it’s 16ozs . Then I take a measuring stick basic 12 inch I measure half way down the bottle from their fill line automatically knowing that’s the 8oz mark. Then so on and so on! I just hate the waste of the oil when using measuring cups… Anyone else feel this way? You can break it down ounce by ounce just by drawing a line on the bottle!
