Very wise words from one of the best. I feel like this is the final piece that a lot of photographers struggle with, the point when they understand light and composition etc and want to define themselves with a specific genre or a signature style but get stuck in the colour grading trap which is influenced by social media trends. Often the best work comes from within where the subject is simply the light.

Dang bro that hit me right in the heart😭. So true…it’s so hard to take what’s in ur heart and let it out in a photograph so it’s something I’m personally trying to do with my work as well. Thanks for this one bro

Great advice my man. Everyones life is unique and the way they actually look at it, not how they want you to look at it. Love the authentic approach that many people THINK they have. Love your work!

Thanks for sharing this insight Samuel! Creating timeless work is something I've been much more conscious of when using the camera and especially when it comes to editing. It's a constant journey and as you said, I'm trying to find my voice when it comes to photography. You're honestly one of my top 5 photographers who I look up to for inspiration!

this kind of thinking is what gets you settled in for the long haul. excited to watch your work develop and unfold over the years/decades. if you haven't checked it out, Stephen Shore's conversations around this kind of thing is really interesting (his recent book Modern Instances is really great).
