For years, I've been using this 3 step solution that I've been using to make my snares sound crispy, tight, and present, without changing the volume of the snare. In other words, making snares that sparkle.
MAKING YOUR SNARES POP WITH EQ | How to Mix Drums 🎧 Part Four
In this video, I use 3 different VST/AAX plugins:
• Parametric EQ 2 🎚
• F6 by Waves (Dynamic EQ) 🎚
• SSL G-EQ by Waves 🎚

I used these plugins for a few reasons. For one, using Parametric EQ 2 is a staple for me when making FL Studio tutorials because it's a stock plugin that comes with FL Studio (all versions, including FL Studio 20 and FL Studio 21). I used F6 by Waves because it's one of my favorite Dynamic EQ plugins, and I use the SSL G-EQ by Waves because its just awesome. Ultimately, I wanted to show you all a few different examples so that you familiarize yourself with how different EQ's work.
(By the way, Waves is NOT paying me to promote their plugins or post their links. However, below, you'll find a link to receive 10% off your order at Waves. If you'd like to try some plugins by Waves, and are interested in supporting the channel, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!)

This FL Studio production course caters to hip-hop and EDM producers, but the information in this video can be used by producers and mix engineers of any genre, including trap, freestyle, dirty south, west coast, and more.
This tutorial was made using FL Studio 20, but any DAW will work. Whether you use a DAW with native VST or AAX plugins, these concepts are consistent across the board. You can use these concepts with almost any snare/clap sound. If you want crispy snares, this is the video for you.
