Hi. I'm thinking about buying this for professional work.. Is this a professional grade machine? Can I use it for landscaping business? Thank you..

I'm in a landscaping business and I've used corded hedge trimmers for years now. Why you ask? The weight of the 2 stroke hedge trimmers was way too much for me to handle if I had 2 hours or more of cutting. I simply couldn't do it, my arms would start to hurt and I was done for the day. Yes the cords are a hastle but I got the power I needed with the lightness. Now I can finally evolve and buy my self something without the inconvenience of cords. I can't tell you how many times I've cut the cord at the client's house and short circuited the hell out of everything with fuses popping out all over.. Oh the shame.. I'm going to buy this puppy tomorrow, but unfortunately my local dealer only has a 30" on a discount so I'm going in with the larger blade model. I know it's heavier but I can also reach further for those really wide hedges and cut the larger surface with the single pass... Thnx for the review..

Hi Tool Boss, The thing that i really don't like on this makita hedge trimmer is that handle safety trigger. This is why i didn't buy the EGO trimmer which is the same style. I really like the DeWalt cordless hedge trimmer. DeWalt just need to make a new 20v version - Brushless, More strokes, End blade protection (for getting close to the ground) and maybe a lock position switch. I really like the DeWalt light weight. You can control it with one hand with a reach when need to. Simple, don't really need all these buttons for a hedge trimmer. Just my opinion.

that's nice not having a chord I got to really fancy bushes at the small round balls the tree that overhangs and then roll offs that's very nice and tight I don't know how many times because it trying to get the hedge trimmer in such a tight position you'll realize the cord is so close and then you don't realize you end up cutting the cord

Didn’t know that makita could cut 1/2”ish thick branches, impressive for a battery tool. But, than again, battery tools are the future for us all; so, I guess we should start expecting tools to perform very well. So Boss, did the balance of tool or using it all feel “odd” when rotated the handle at all(how do you think wear/tear will be on the handle’s rotating “joint”). Have an old corded style trimmer that rotates & when I do, the balance is “off” & it’s not comfortable to use anything above chest high, or waist low.....as the “weight” of tool is weird. Last thing....how like those controls, think they’ll hold if get “wet” at all? That reverse button would have been handy on the trimmers I’ve used in the past. Have had some “interesting” times getting branches out of blades when trying to cut something little too big than tool can handle😂, long story...... Thx for the vid & music 👍🏻

blade form and construction looks exactly like milwaukee's single sided, dual action blade too bad the duh602z from makita is not available here in the states the duh602z has same platform and functions but has a killer double sided, dual action blade construction that can cut up to one inch...

Makita really needs to get on the ball. Milwaukee is killing it on nearly every trade except woodworking and vacuums. Every makita release is a new impact or a new vacuum. Their new 12v ratchet looks like trash, no lighting system like milwaukee. Tool offerings for electricians and plumbers is trash. They have some good tools for fabricators though.

I'm not sure I agree that Milwaukee is doing better. I'm a remodeling contractor and on the Makita platform. I generally research every tool purchase pretty well. What I see is Makita, DeWalt and Milwaukee pretty much neck and neck on every tool. Maybe I'm missing something, or your talking about just gardening tools.

@@pimpam9355 I have the XHU07 Makita. I love it. I don't know how it performs relative to the other battery platforms but compared to the gas ones I've been running my whole life it's a massive upgrade.
