Thanks very much for your effort and persistents in repairing the DMR 115. Your video guided me to the fuse next to the power connector. In my case changing that fuse resulted in a working radio again. Even the power on switch works again. I dont know what the cause of the blown fuse was but for now i am pleased with a working radio again. Thanks again, regards, Philip from Holland

The simple fix is to replace the fuse on the board and add a simple relay circuit and link this to the original on/off button which involves cutting the track to achieve this….. mines up and running perfectly and the additional circuit cost £4

Much appreciate your second go at this. It is obviously a not uncommon fault. You saved me from dumping the radio. I will use your work-around. Cheers!

Thanks for the update, I brought one from ebay for 50 quid, not working, but thanks to you, bridged the same fuse and worked. But same fault, not turning off/on by the power switch. A switch on the side isn't the end of the world. Did read on another site, that the AO3403 P-Channel Enhancement Mode Field Effect Transistor was blown as well. Going to order some of them and see if that fixes the on/off problem. Thanks

I couldn't find details for what the fuse should be, so I used a 32v 5amp fast acting fuse. That may not be correct, but I had to use something. Thanks for the tip on the AO3403 - I'll look into that. It seems that this is a very common problem.

Replacement of 3403 MOSFET fixed my power button problem. In vicinity of fuse there are two of them so i replaced both. Thank you!

Hi. Thank you for the video. I have the same model and the same problem. I changed the fuse to 1a. The radio starts but I can't turn it off. This week I am going to change the HCF4013 integrated circuit, which can be responsible for 2 functions of the switch.

Any links to where I can buy said fuse and resistors. Bought one yesterday for $30, in practically brand new condition but won’t start either. Have checked for any visual damage but everything is good. Gonna test with multimeter today

I couldn't find any information about the value of the fuse, so I'd only be guessing. I would only say don't use a quick-blow fuse as they seem to be too sensitive.

@@SpareTimeRepair too late now, i removed the fuse and tried to bridge it like you did. it started though then some smoke appeared :( it blew the copper strip on the back.

Um. I’ve been watching your videos with fascination. This electronical gas is wizardry to me. I was thinking though. As you’ve put so much time into the workings of this radio would you consider proof of concept by fixing another one with exactly the same problems? I felt wounded paying so much for the radio and wounded again when it stopped working. Could you help me out? Not expecting a cheap deal, I’d just be thrilled paying what it takes getting it working again. It’d be a shame to make it landfill Thanks.

As the channel name suggests, I'm not a professional and wouldn't want to take responsibility for the long term effectiveness or safety of my work. It's one thing working on stuff for myself or my friends, but if money is changing hands it implies a different level of expectation. If you can find someone willing to do it for you, I'm happy for you to show them my 'solution' but it comes with no guarantees.

Your brave the only way id try is if i had two one working that way i can go from the bad to the good to see whats not the same and what its supposed to be when its good. I also have those adapters for different sockets its definitely over well ming on how many different plugs there are . I converted mine and went with a 5,5 barrel jack i like it because a lot of lap top use it as well most media boxes use it and dvd players as long as you pay attention to what voltage the supply and device is its fine. I can see why a few different style can be handy and a good idea. just because iv seen my parents plug in and as long as it fits they will plug it in and iv tried to explain why thats not good to do because of the different out puts . They only see it as it does or doesn't work . Not understanding it probably did but now it doesn't because you plug in more power then it can handle. Lower voltage is fine it won't turn on but over will fry it . the first thing every one says well the plug fit. My dad didn't like my reply. that why my stuff works and your stuff doesn't. your the one that told me to pay attention when i was little kid. Now I've got to tell you😅. His solution was throwing out all the power supply. If i did have a box of different ones id kept them lol

I wouldn't recommend using the same fuse as I did. It was a fast blowing fuse and I don't think that's the way to go.
