This jig saw belongs to a friend of mine. I first thought it was a motor issue but when I opened it up I found a couple of parts that had come loose and some were broken off.
The replacement parts were ordered from a Makita dealer. I decided not to replace the bearings on the motor as the jig saw was not that old and they seemed to be in good condition.
After I had taken everything apart I cleaned all the greased parts with brake cleaner, which is very effective. The plastic shell was cleaned with washing soda and hot water. For the electronics I used IPA.
I then reassembled everything making sure to put grease on all moving parts.
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video!
