The cold sweet soup you are having is "Leng chi Kang" is a Chinese dessert which also double as "cooling soup" from Chinese medicinal perspective. It is boil from rock sugar, dried longan, barli and some jellies (and they sometimes throw in some of sago or glutinous rice balls (made from glutinous flour)). The "spiciness" from the hot soup might be from the ginger which they also add in - depending on the seller.

Whoa, pretty amazing to see you guys made it all the way to Peel Road. This place brought alot of fond memories to me as I grew up in that neighborhood way back in the 80s, glad to see this place still teeming with hawker stalls. By the way, I'm surprised you guys did not try the famous mutton soup there. The stall has been operating for decades ( I'm pretty sure they are still around ) and they serve absolutely delicious mutton soup. As for "mee hoon" aka Cantonese Fried Noodles in Egg Gravy, go check out Pan Heong restaurant near Batu Caves (www.taufulou.com/pan-heong-restaurant-batu-caves) . Another place worth checking out is the "Charcoal BBQ Yong Tau Foo" at Taman Desa (facebook.com/oldtricycle ), their Yong tau foo is really yummm. Anyway, love your videos, keep 'em coming !! Cheers

Hi Robby Chong, thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. We loved exploring Jalan Peel- it had such a nice atmosphere to it. What a neat neighbourhood to grow up in! Oh no! We didn't see any mutton soup stall- we'll have to return and have a another look around. Maybe we missed it 😆 Thanks for the suggestions! Have made a note of them! Hope you enjoy the content we have lined up for the channel 😄 Cheers, Sheena

Awesome guys. That satays look incredible! What a guilty pleasure 😅 Remember putu bambu that I recommended? I came across another youtuber, she had it at the stall outside Central Market. It seems like there are a few food stalls there. She also tried nasi kuning i.e turmeric rice. That's a traditional Sabah-Malay delicacies. Worth a try, I guess 😊 Here's the link of that KZitem: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rWN5qpZ5ioCXZWk

Ahhhh, thanks for that Robert! We haven't been to the Central Market yet so we'll have to head that way soon. We'll keep an eye out for the putu bambu! The satays were really good at Jalan Peel. Perfect fat to meat ratio 😆 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment mate. Cheers, Sheena

Wow, good job guys. Great to see you found this hawker centre in Jln Peel, and yes Jln Alor is highly overrated. (Disneyland of food streets thats a good one!) The desserts that you guys had was Lin Zi Kang @ Lotus Seed Dessert. The "noodles" in the soup is dried winter melon. Funny fact: that there are uncountable variations of this tong sui here and ingredients to this tradition dessert soup differs from shop to shop. oh one more protip: If you guys ever spot a pink & yellow food truck with the name Mat Dou Yao (it's a dessert shop on wheels) they offer this Lin Zi Kang tong sui and you get to choose whatever toppings you want in the tong sui.

If you would allow me to give a piece of advice.... perhaps you could mention or label halal those food items that you eat which are halal.... that way you will appeal to more of your potential Muslim viewers, because there are a lot of people searching for Halal eateries on food blogs. Just a thought.
