@Ton Lok the book of Jeremiah explains quite a bit. The original AKJV of the Holy Bible stated that when Moses came down from the mountain after speaking with God, the hebrews were afraid of him because he was glowing pale . The new Bibles no longer have the original description of him. Neither do the online versions. It states to not add to nor take away one word from the Holy Bible. Yet that has happened over and over. I wasn't raised with a Bible, church etc. I don't practice rituals today because I am not familiar with them. There is a portion in the Bible that states if you live by the law but do not know the law no burden will be added to you. The law is Jesus. The only thing my mother knew from the Holy Bible was the Golden Rule. That is what we were raised on. My mother insisted. We also did the pay it forward but didn't call it that. When you are needed and can help pay it to that person and ask them to do the same.

Malcolm talked a good game, but he was never a boots on the ground type of guy. It took a lot more courage to confront racism in the streets and on the freedom rides in the Deep South where one was exposed to the physical violence of angry mobs, vicious dogs, and rabid police than it did to pose in front TV cameras making grand statements in safe spaces like Harlem, Harvard, and Berkeley, all the while being guarded by hand picked members of the FOI. Malcolm X was a public intellectual and a revolutionary advocate, not a warrior or a revolutionary. Don’t mythologize him; that does a disservice to his legacy of speaking truth to power.

I'm white as wonder bread. I'll be straight. I don't see something like 'by any means necessary' as a threat of violence. If some one asked anyone of us "How would you protect your loved ones...your home... your family and friends?" Wouldn't most of us answer thusly?
@Sav3TheWorld

Exactly....but the problem is its such a vague answer. There are many different ways to solve a problem. Maybe white people and black people working together is necessary to achieve equality. Or maybe violent, unreasonable revolution is a necessary way to achieve that goal. I think the problem "white people" had was with the fact that they Did understand how black people felt and would probably do the same thing in their position. So, as usual, the average citizens were the ones forced to take the heat for the government's actions, and they couldn't blame black people for being violent in pursuit of their freedom. Any means necessary is a threat of violence when the people saying it seem like they won't try talking or working together at all.....which is what yelling at college Kids who are on the same side as them just because they're white looks like.

This was taped before he left the NOI, and long before he had taken his haj to Mecca. Therefore his views at this point are skewed by the NOI. Later in life, his eyes were open to a much broader in politics and the world in general.

Thank God there was a place like this, so these opinions could be heard. His views change later on, but I agree with his original point tho. Maybe the blacks and whites cant live together? Can the master ever look upon the slave as equal? Can the slave ever trust the master? Theres alot of repercussions from slavey, that never were addressed. If the two races r to live together, the white race needs to be prepared for a major transfer of wealth and power. Dont see that happening freely.

My biggest takeaway from this is how intelligent all of those questions sound and how respectful that entire crowd is of Malcolm x and the entire event. Have we as a people really gotten dumber? Has our respect for one another declined that greatly?

Back then people spoke politely but acted callously. I do think people should think about how they speak, and act kindly and politely within reason. But the reason people act out and scream and shout is because; It works. I would rather people scream at each other equally enraged, than one beat the other and then walk away smiling. That is the old dead past, and it should stay dead.

Malcolm was a genius. I think in this QnA he brings up some really important points, and also says some things that I very strongly disagree with. But I appreciate him and his intelligence and bravery to speak his mind. We need more people who speak their mind, and I wish more people on the left and the right explored outside of their own echo-chambers and learned from some of the heavy-weight thinkers on race, justice, and freedom from the past.

Late Malcolm X , was the best preacher of Truth, Justice and equality of all human beings, so he was the best teacher of Islam. That can be seen in the encapsulated brief but clarified answer he gave to a student who asked him to quote from Qur'an. I do not think any Maulana or Maulavi or Mulla good have explained what is Islam , better than Maulana , Maulavi , Malcolm X. So beautiful , and so piercing to the Heart and Mind of anyone and every one. Any one with a sense of a 10 yrs old should be able to understand correctly and convincingly.
