I was struggling with telling the difference in my male and female guineas. I learned a few SUBTLE tricks that are more prominent in some flocks than others: wattle size, neck plumage, and helmet (horn) size… all of which are supposed to be ever so slightly larger on males. Then I learned the variation in call.
I honestly thought guineas had different noises based on activity… but actually I learned that there’s a main female call with two beats, and a male call with one. Super easy to tell the difference now!
