This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences.
Miguel Savage, survivor of the Malvinas/Falklands war, went back to the islands in 2000 in order to heal his wounds. His testimony serves the purpose of buring the ghosts of a story that teared his life apart. His example helps others to multiply resilience.
After 20 years and a financial crisis where he lost his job, he felt lost with anguish and decided to seek for help. In this process, he saw three ways of facing his suffering: hiding it, becoming a victim, or transform it in something positive. And this was the path that Miguel chose for himself. Seeking support in others, being surrounded by generous people and taking as much as posible from every minute, as it were the last one. After the horrible test he faced when he was only 19, he learnt to value the simple things of life. And he won.
