Mother's hide their babies so they can go eat. They aren't abandoned and humans should not touch them. The scent attracts predators and thus why fawns are born with practically no scent to them. Mother only finds them by call and knows fear vs hungry and she came back because the hungry cry turned to fear because humans interrupted the fawn. Animal education should be mandatory along with schools and moving to certain areas.

It's astounding how cold and cruel it is, right? - after everything humanity has done and learned, we should have evolved to be kind to one another, because one another is all we have, being intensely social species. I don't understand it
@barbarahill9176
Жыл бұрын
@@mimosa27I guess the best we can do is be committed to kindness, work on ourselves, and try to be an example to others. So many things play into the making of heartless people, it's mind boggling. Lecturing only hardens them further. The only thing that might affect change is someone being kind to them. But that's really hard. (I know my first reaction to a mean person!😠) 😏
@dotcassilles1488

I feel sorry for you that you have been through enough challenging times to have the perspective that the world is only hard and cold (or did you mean cruel?). Every day I see examples of people and animals being kind to one another, protecting each other, and being there to help one another out. I guess it's a matter of perspective. I've been through tough times and struggle some days to get out of bed due to chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and bipolar spectrum disorder. Yet I am amazed by the kindness of family, friends and community as well as perfect strangers. I'm surrounded not just by humans but animals who help me to recover and heal. My rescued cat seems to know instinctively when I am having a bad day, my neighbours dogs will nag her to let them come visit, the birds visit my yard during the day and the possums play tag on my roof at night and sit quietly in my backyard centermeters from my cat. One mummy possum has a special friendship with my cat and always brings her babies when they are big enough, introducing them to me and the cat. Pusscat looks out for her babies while she is eating and as they grow he becomes a surrogate uncle who plays with them gently. He will chase off any other possum or cat who tries to steal mum possum's food or gets too close to the babies. Mum possum trusts him enough to let him sit within 15 centermeters of her as she is eating and if the babies want to suckle on her she will deliberately move closer to the cat so she can help the baby while he watches for danger. She had twins this year and they were very small, clinging onto mums back like limpets when I first saw them at the end of winter (I'm Aussie so in August). Blessings, Dot
@mimosa27
Жыл бұрын
@@dotcassilles1488 Dot, you are very fortunate to have wonderful family, friends, community, and strangers. Many people do not - particularly not all four. More about that in a moment, but I know all about how kind and healing animals can be. I work with wildlife, so I see it often. Humans need animals around them, because we find it healing to be reminded of how sane the world can be, and how much we have separated from that balance and that sanity. The human world is cold and cruel to the most vulnerable and most in need of protection. It is cold and cruel to victims of child abuse, itself a staggering epidemic and a crime against humanity, because their lives are forever shattered and very few see justice. People are cruel to these victims. I've experienced and seen it many times. The human world is cold and cruel to those with little means to live, particularly to those who have lost their homes. In a kind human world, no person would be homeless. None. What we are seeing is a reflection of how cold our hearts are. The world is extremely cold and cruel to the disabled, keeping them locked in a cycle of poverty and abuse on purpose. It is heartless to the many people addicted to substances, which are their only means of coping with the violence of our world; a violence many begin experiencing as soon as they can walk. It is cold and cruel to human potential - far too many individuals in this world cannot reach their potential because of how much their societies choke it out of them - women, particularly. Our world is, in many ways, insane and deranged. We have to help one another. It is all around us, and to have any hope of changing this we have to become aware of it. It is not enough to say "this never happened to me, so all is fine."

Actually my whitetail Zoe would beg to differ.. many of us don't know whitetail language, posture, tension, , gait, hair-raising, eye and ear expressions etc.. 20+ years of WALKING with them has given me a comprehensive and amazing wealth of what I'm afraid is largely exclusive opportunity to which I feel a responsibility to share.. I'm in the process of creating a comprehensive educational opportunity to share these amazing animals...they are so much like us, but at the same time so "alien" in the ways of their nature, which serve them..to REALLY SEE DEER. is an enlightening experience. To learn how to respectfully acknowledge them, and live and work together with a family as I have is beyond words or even videos..to understand and know what they are doing is like learning the culture of an aboriginal tribe in a foreign land..its SO COOL..Deer are very restful and loyal, so my time just sitting with them in the quiescence as they sleep has been profoundly relaxing..they cherish peace & security, and will come to you to enjoy peace together..they are also sneaky spies, keeping tabs on how human activities affect them, I've followed right up to tree felling operations and late back yard BBQ's w/local matriarchs, deer are much braver than we think of them, they just don't like the spotlight..they stay hidden like stagehands..if you love cats, you'll love deer! They need to know what's up to survive, & they manage routines & individuals similarly.. amazing to follow!!

@@ixizn *sorry you missed, covered in another comment.. basically, if you see a deer with high head, stiff posture, glaring eye contact with a situation, being very still, that expresses "finger-pointing the threat" The fluffed rump white hairs and widened white tail hair is two stage "flag"("threat..?!..FLAGGED THREAT⚠️) and high tail "DEPART!!(flee following)" The agitation and departure to cover is also sign of "exit threat area!" If that doe were so happy she would have already been focusing on bonding with little one and looked relaxed, "slouching, soft posture" eyes and gaze relaxed instead. "Normal" rather than "fixated" I felt the Momma from watching the video, but I also have 20,000 HOURS in the company of wild deer, over more than 20 years.. it takes time to learn foreign languages, mannerisms, and microexperssions outside of one's own experience, be it culture or species. I'm working to bridge that knowledge gap.. I'm not an animal whisperer, I have just learned how to listen to other than words.. (A skill which pays very well) *makes people NOT want to play poker with me..ethically I cannot play, as i have an unfair advantage. *It's like the illusion of magic, all in the observer's perception, or lack thereof during an act. I love reading wildlife. Still learning! *I'm gonna watch again.. **OH! LOOK AT THE STIFF PRANCE & LEG-STOMP AS SHE FIRST STOPS! THEN THE ATTENTION GETTING HIGH ELEVATION FLAG-BOUNDING! Her eyes were wide, not relaxed.. Looked like a scene when we were kids, would get in the wrong yard, & have to run away..one of us would double back for the straggler, "COME ON!! 😲😱😬WE'RE GONNA HET BUSTED! LETS GO!!! She was scared. A whitetail flipping their tail up and running like that means she got scared and was warning of danger. If there are others nearby they'll also often make grunting noises while running off to startle the others into running.

That looks like an awful place to live. If we weren’t clearing ancient forests to plop down cookie-cutter houses with huge invasive species lawns then the dawn wouldn’t have had to experience this stress. If you want to get close to animals in a more urbanized area you can visit a zoo or similar Institution. We’ve gotta stop sprawling out in the U.S. and build more dense mixed-use neighborhoods that encourage active mobility instead of driving if we want to help nature.
