When she said "If I didn't have an abortion back then, you should be about this age too.." there was probably a hint of regret in her voice tone. Because her other children are so busy and she has to live alone, she's just imagining that if she didn't have the abortion, the youngest child could have taken care of her and she will not be that lonely.. That's what I got from this whole short film. Very simple yet touching. Good job!

The ending really hit me. Ah... this video is really sad because my grandmother would also talk to me like this when I visit. Old people have it hardest when it comes to loneliness because they're usually forgotten and seen as a burden. Can you imagine looking back on your life and just reliving old memories because there's no one around you can be with to make new ones?

A beautifully written film. of an elderly mother reflecting on memories of her two children and still carrying the regret in her heart when she had to abort one of her pregnancies. That hurt and regret and also guilt never disappears.

This is really award winning material.. The mama can really act. The moment she saw the pregnant lady in the market, she remember that she like to eat bittergourd. The communication between her and her imaginary son...and at the end, we can literally sense her emptiness and regrets..It is such a great short film

She talked about her younger days when she was in school. She was pregnant but unaware of it. We can suspect that when she was at the port, something happened that they came to know she was pregnant with him at the time. We can surmise she aborted him for several reasons: 1. she was still a student. 2. Asian society probably does not accept a girl pregnant without being married. 3. she was unprepared, still young and scared, etc. She said she never liked bitter guard until she was pregnant with him - this is symbolic of her regret of the abortion.

It's wonderful to see a quality film spoken entirely in hakka. This film has beautiful camera work, setting, and superb acting especially by the woman - her hakka is beautifully spoken. I was very disappointed with the ending. It was too melodramatic and I think it spoilt the beauty of this film. I will continue my search for hakka films of this quality but with a more uplifting story.

Viddsee.. thank you.. Very professionally done and it reminds me of my Childhood/Teenage yrs. The village and the wet market scene look like Yesterday to me. The Hakka spoken is perfect thou your subtitle is distorted a bit. I think the story line depends on the viewers since your production of this short film are all on live ,which includes her imaginary son would be ,if she had not opt for the abortion. Her flash back was trigger, when she pump into the pregnant lady..are bitter groud used for abortion those days ? Where is those locations ? Look like my former village and I can see mama's house is marked 'C9' which about to be bulldozed ? This dilect of Hakka is widely spoken in the outskirt of KL.. could it be Serdang Baru or Salak South New Village . Watch this many X Thanks
