dingga is basically about covid era back when everyone was indoors thats why they say they want to go out and drink and eat ice cream and why they binged dramas and lacked vitamin D

Dingga is their pandemic song. “Dingga,” which comes from the Korean phrase “dingga dingga” is “the act of lazily enjoying one's free time" (according to Soompi)

@@roguereacts The woman singlehandedly brought my ass into kpop... all i needed was seeing Eclipse once... I love Mamamoo as whole, and as you said, every one of them has their own charms and qualities and are vital, and, honestly, I coul fill the comment section gushing about them. But I... just... yeah. Just Moonbyul. *melting emoji*

Ollie know his queen, love how he sit and accompanying you to do mamamoo reaction. Dingga is colorful and spread the joy of playing with friend while being lockup during pandemic. That’s how mamamoo always spread the positivity vibe ❤. The music director is the same.

OH GREAT!!! I just realised this is really good.. because you have not dived into Solar and Moonbyul's MVs, and doing HIP, DINGGA, and AYA now. :D Moomoos had a theory that in Reality in BLACK, MAMAMOO wanted to go into this multiverse concept, and you can see the alternative universe members from HIP in the different MVs. - You see Environmentalist Wheein in Dingga (14:00) - You see Mother Hwasa at the end of Dingga passing the pickaxe to AYA Hwasa (17:36) And eventually when you dive into MoonSun's solo, you'll be able to see their alter egos in Solar's Spit It Out, and Moonbyul's Eclipse. Let's see if you can spot them. (p.s. Moonbyul's was the easiest to spot XD)

4 universes in HIP. 1- Mamamoo 2- Solar princess, music video director Moonbyul, Environmentalist Wheein, mother Hwasa 3- boxer Solar, choreographer Moonbyul, artist Wheein, music actor Hwasa 4- rock star Solar, entertainment CEO Moonbyul, indie artist Moonbyul, President Hwasa HIP was my re-introduction to Mamamoo (as OUAY was my first one). Dingga was released before Aya as it teases Aya at the end. It was their pandemic song. Aya.. I call it Egotiatic 2.0. It kills, definitely one of my favorite titles.

I suggest the Aya/Dingga aggrabah version. It is live and the level of performance is over the top. No dingga is not a commerical and it is insane their OSTs are so good we cant tell when something is a commercial or not.

I think Aya might be my fav title track, but it might be because it was my first comeback as a moomoo (got into Mamamoo because of the 1Million choreography video of Hip, I think I saw it on july 2020) and I was just so excited to experience every release and new stage. But it's still one of the songs I listen to the most - I listen to the traditional version on the I Say Mamamoo: The Best album more tbh. Hip has a special place on my heart because, as I mentioned, I got to know them because of it. It's not on my top 5 (or even 10) fav songs by Mamamoo now but Moonbyul's deep voice rap will always make me replay that part. And if you liked Solar's low register on Aya I think you might like her Fever cover hehe You can find it on 4season concert during her solo part and there's also a radio show where she sang it too. Edit: fixed some words, my English is trash

Lmao yesterday's commercials really messed with you, huh? I guess it's a testament to how great they are! I have to say out of these three songs, my favourite has to be Dingga. Just a brilliant ode to having fun and letting loose (safely! Mamamoo says "wear your masks"), I love everyone's various tones in it, the playfulness, Byul's harmony with Wheein with however many octaves separating their voices, and the MV is so fun too. Hip is obviously iconic, what a way to write a diss track against haters, and Aya has such a unique musical arrangement, but yeah, Dingga just makes me happy. Excited to see what you make of the albums 🤘

Lol that Wheein is the eccentric one for you in Hip. In my life women who are artists, hippie singer-songwriters and/or activists aren't eccentric, they're my friends. Seems normal to me but if you want to call them eccentric that's ok too. :) Hwasa's 3rd character is a musical theatre actress. Moonbyul plays a choreographer, a video director and an entertainment company CEO. Yes, the gravestones say Tooth in Aya and we see a mouthful of them To Hwasa the love affair is like a rotten tooth and she symbolically extracts herself and her feelings from the toxic relationship by appearing as a dominatrix dentist whacking away at the teeth with a pickaxe. Solar was not playing a vampire in Aya. Her getup includes a Frida Kahlo unibrow and the extremely long hair and white dress of an Asian ghost. Solar confirmed that the unibrow was a nod to Frida but she didn't explain what Frida had to do with the rest of her costume, how Frida fit into a breakup song or what she meant by the dagger scene at the end. It took a bit of research to come up with a theory that puts it all together. Frida Kahlo lived much of her life in pain after a bus accident where her pelvis was impaled. Young female Asian ghosts are thought to be haunted (so to speak) by lost love. Put them together in the context of the song and the final scene makes more sense: Solar ritually impales the bowl of her tears with a dagger to exorcize any lingering feelings for the person she's breaking up with. The violent acts by Solar, Moonbyul and Hwasa as they painfully liberate themselves from the relationship are expressed musically in the dramatic shift towards the end accompanied by lightning and African inspired dance moves. Wheein is the only pacifist of the bunch. Her liberation from the depressed, repressed and oppressed self represented by the dark makeup, veils and hats is shown in the scene where she magically makes the room light up. Not sure why you thought Dingga was a CF song. Dingga was a pre-release single from the Travel album. Many moomoos thought Dingga should have been the title track and it out-performed Aya on the k-charts. Btw, Dingga is a slang word that means fool around and have fun. Dingga was meant to cheer us up while we were socially distant during the pandemic, hence the video calls, glitter masks, and the lines about not getting enough vitamin D, etc. In the song and MV they fantasize about things they wish they could do with friends of all ages - eating ice cream and playing children's games or roller skating and drinking like a fish.
