Let's watch 2 old ladies as they play Mamayug, Binalig, Sinulug, & Tinidtu (Tidtu) kulintang.
Mamayug is patterned after a sad song of a woman abandoned by her husband.
Literally means "done differently" in Maguindanaon language, Binalig is the embodiment of change in kulintang and it expresses love, anger, or joy.
Sinulog is played slowly and in a flowing manner to express loneliness and sentimental feelings.
Performed at a very fast pace, Tinidtu (Tidtu) is used to display one’s virtuosity.
The exhibition was done during the Cultural Mapping activity of Barangay Mapayag, Datu Anggal Midtimbang Municipality, Maguindanao Province, for the municipality's Inventory of Cultural Property. #kulintang #culturalmapping #maguindanao
