"Male Stripper" was originally written & recorded in 1982! (re-recorded and released in 1986). It was the end of The Fast and Electro for us was on the horizon. We had just released the synth single "Moontan" so Miki and I went to work with the original Fast producer Bobby 'O' who was hot with The Flirts, Divine, Pet Shop Boys and his own recordings as an artist. We recorded a few singles with Bobby that were never released (he was already juggling more than a dozen acts on his own label "O" Records). We started with 3 songs in about 3 weeks of recording and mixing, "Unisex Haircut" (later we gave the song to John Sex to record), future Man 2 Man songs "At The Gym" (re-recorded and released in 1987) & "Male Stripper" (re-recorded and released in 1986). We performed all 3 finished masters at the Fun House that night. We had a roster of original new songs fully written & some from our days with The Fast that would turn out to be perfect for MAN 2 MAN. We'll always be grateful to Bobby "O" for being there with his support at the beginning of The Fast & the beginning of Man 2 Man. -Paul Zone THE ZONE BROTHERS DISCOGRAPHY 1976 through 1990 Max’s Kansas City 1976 (LP) THE FAST “Boys Will Be Boys” “Wow Pow Bash Crash” “Motocycle Mania” Produced by Bobby ‘O’ Orlando -12inch vinyl compilation LP 1976 THE FAST “It’s Like Love” “Kids Just Wanna Dance ‘77” Produced by Richard Gottehrer -7inch vinyl single 1977 THE FAST “Boys Will Be Boys” “Wow Pow Bash Crash” -7inch vinyl single 1978 THE FAST (MIKI ZONE ZOO) “These Boots Are Made For Walking” “Coney Island Chaos” Produced by Miki Zone & Paul Zone -7inch vinyl single 1978 THE FAST "B Movies" “Cars Crash” Produced by Ian North -7inch vinyl single 1978 Sharp Cuts (LP) THE FAST “Kids Just Wanna Dance ‘79” Produced by Ric Ocasek -12inch vinyl compilation LP 1979 The Fast For Sale (LP) THE FAST “Kids Just Wanna Dance ‘79” “Sizzler” “Wet & Wild” ” “T-Shirt & Tight Jeans” “Love Me Like A Locomotive ” Produced by Ric Ocasek, “It's Like Love” “Boys Will Be Boys” “These Boots were Made For Walking” “Coney Island Chaos” “B-Movies” “Cars Crash” -12inch vinyl LP 1980 Max’s Kansas City Presents New Wave Hits For The 80s (LP) THE FAST “Boys Will Be Boys” “Kids Just Wanna Dance ‘77” -12inch vinyl LP 1980 OZONE featuring Armand (Mandy) Zone “I Could Have Been” “Broken Toy” Produced by Armand (Mandy) Zone -7inch vinyl single 1981 Leather Boys From The Asphalt Jungle (EP) THE FAST “Jaguar In The Jungle” “Paint It Black” “Black Leather Jacket” “Ritual Sacrifice” “Ride on The Wild Side” “Girls In Gangs” “Boro Boys” “Skinny Kids and Bigger Bullies” Produced by Ian North -12inch vinyl EP 1981 THE FAST “Moontan” “Love Is Like An Itchin' In My Heart” Produced by Ian North -7inch vinyl single 1982 BRUNO BEATS (Miki Zone) “Dance ' Til Ya' Drop” “Dig That Disc” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone -7inch vinyl single 1983 ARMAND ZONE “Stay Cool” “Dare I” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone -7inch vinyl single 1983 Holiday (EP) BRUNO BEATS (Miki Zone) “Wintergreen,” “Frosty The Rockin Snowman,” “Cryin' On Christmas,” “Swingin' On A Star” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone -7inch vinyl single 1984 Walls Of Fire (EP) ARMAND ZONE & OZONE “Walls Of Fire” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone “The Hunted” “Rockie Fever” “Shotgun” “The Chain” “Emeralds -N- Lace” “The Tribe” Produced by Armand Zone & Ozone -12inch vinyl EP 1985 MAN 2 MAN “Hottest Of The Hot” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Martin Bisi “Walk Like A Man” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Ian North -12inch vinyl single 1985 MAN 2 MAN featuring Jessica Williams “These Boots Are Made For Walking” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone -12inch & 7inch vinyl single 1985 MAN 2 MAN “Male Stripper” “All Men Are Beasts” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Man Parrish -12inch vinyl single 1985 MAN 2 MAN “Sex Symbol” “One Touch Of Eros” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Man Parrish -12inch vinyl single 1986 MAN 2 MAN “Energy Is Eurobeat” “Mexico” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Man Parrish -12inch vinyl single 1986 MAN 2 MAN "Mexico (English Version)" “Mexico (Spanish Version)” -7inch vinyl single 1986 Malenergy (LP) MAN 2 MAN “Hottest Of The Hot” “Energy Is Eurobeat” “Walk Like A Man” “One Touch Of Eros” “Sex Symbol” “Male Stripper” “Mexico” “All Men Are Beasts” -12inch vinyl LP 1986 MAN TWO MAN “Who Knows What Evil?” Produced by Ian Levine -7inch & 12inch vinyl single 1986 MAN TO MAN “I Need A Man” Produced by Paul Zone & Miki Zone Co-Produced by Man Parrish 1986 “The Loneliest Man In The World” Produced by Paul Zone & Man Parrish -12inch vinyl single 1987 N.Y.E.P. People have been asking about Paul Zone & Miki Zone's musical connection with Bobby Orlando. Bobby Orlando produced the first recordings of THE FAST in 1975 including “Boys Will Be Boys” & “Wow, Pow, Bash, Crash” on the “Max’s Kansas City 1976” LP. An original version of "At The Gym" was Produced by Bobby Orlando with Paul Zone & Miki Zone as THE FAST in 1982 when they decided to venture into electronic dance music before they changed their name to MAN 2 MAN. An updated version of "At The Gym" was released by MAN TO MAN in 1987. In 1982 Bobby also produced & recorded The Fast songs "Unisex Haircut" and the original version of "Male Stripper" re-recorded as MAN 2 MAN in 1986. THE FAST & MAN 2 MAN always had a roster of fully written & arranged songs ready to record. Producers, Co-Producers, Engineers, Mixers, etc. never contributed with songwriting, melodies or lyrics. All credits on all MAN 2 MAN & THE FAST original released recordings are listed correctly.

I was working a record shop the year this came out. We could hardly keep supplies of the 12" in the shop, it sold so quickly. Surprisingly most buyers appeared to be straight couples. It was a pretty big floor stomper!
