In Stavanger electric busses from Volvo use diesel powered webasto to keep the heat up. They are supposed to use heating rods but that consumes battery, thus shorter range. But Oslo`s stupid politicians have phobia against diesel so i`m not surprised these new MAN busses have no webasto to keep the heat up.

Here in Gothenburg, Sweden we have a couple lines with this bus. It's a little shorter with three doors and less screns. We also have up to 100% electric in the city but the rest of the lines are either volvo buses or trams. The only scenarios where there are diesel buses are the lines that travel a long way between cities or if we run out of electric buses (Malfunctioning, many of them have problems with the doors not closing or opening). Great video!

Drivers tend to leave the retarder/regen lever in wrong position. That's why city busses don't usually have the lever. Retarding/regeneration still does happen, by using the brake pedal or lifting the accelerator
@axeljonsson151
6 ай бұрын
MAN has an electronic retarder lever, it goes automatically to 0 when the gas is pushed. It doesn't have physical notches like ex. Scania
@TomTerjesen
6 ай бұрын
I still prefer the physical handle and that is exactly what we are talking about. I don't want it on the pedal, because most of the time you can have a longer range on an electric bus if it can roll out. The rest is about training, learning the driver to drive correctly.

I disagree with you: 13 degrees is enough. As a passenger you have your outdoor clothing on. The big problem with electric city busses is that all heat disappears through the doors at every stop. Most electric busses maintain their heat with an extra diesel heater which has no cleaning what so ever of the exhausts. The result is an electric bus that is worse to the local environment than the diesel or biogas bus it replaced.
@bussmagasinet1

Because of MAN's advanced technology, the owner of those red buses and people of Oslo feel better to be kind to Earth. Until they are launched, Norwegian vehicle users had to use petrol/diesel fuel for use.
