Tiffany, I liked your tutorial but I’m 74 and I’ve only been crocheting about a year and I just don’t think this would be a project for me. I’m sure all the other ladies will really enjoy making it but I like somethings are just kind of flows. Thank you.

I'm sort of a tight stitcher, so this will be good practice to loosen my tension. The rows look like knitting-really like that! Thank you!😊

AWE thank you so much for the feedback Michele. It means a lot. I really try to think on behalf of the person watching, what would be most helpful for them to understand what I am doing. I try to teach, not just show. I'm glad that is working for people. 🤗🧶❤️ Thank you so much for watching and crocheting with me my friend.

You're right - Plain, simple beanies are a little hard to come by. This is great. Is there a particular reason why the slip stitch to join is done from behind? Would a traditional slip stitch be too visible, creating a seam?
@CrochetWithTiffany
8 ай бұрын
Great question! I noticed, after playing with the backwards slip stitch, that my joins ended up being straight and not the slanted line that often shows up in a rounded project. I thought that was pretty nifty. Honestly, you can absolutely slip stitch to close the round the regular way. I suppose that could be personal preference. 😊❤️🧶

Wondering if there a way to get rid of that separation in the back.
@CrochetWithTiffany
4 ай бұрын
The only real way to avoid the join in the back is to work a continuous round or spiral stitch. There might be a fancy way you can hide the join with a closed round join but it will require experience with stitches. 😊❤️🧶

Tiffany, I'm making this for my sister who is going through chemotherapy and has lost her hair. Is a medium size recommended?
@CrochetWithTiffany
Ай бұрын
That’s a great question. I would normally say it all depends on the person’s head size as it will have some stretch to it. But with Chemo you want things to be as comfortable as possibly. I’d go with a large size if you can. It won’t be too big as the stitches will start smaller and expand but it will also fit more loosely and comfortably. I hope this helps. 😊💖🧶

I was told her circumference is 22 inches. Would you still recommend it as a large?

Will this work with K&C weight 2 wool yarn? Thanks!
@CrochetWithTiffany
6 күн бұрын
Yes it would work but you would want to make a few more rows and stitches to accommodate the different thickness of the stitches. 😊💖🧶

This is nice but will be too big for me bc i do not have a man to make it for. I will have to use an H hook for me thanks ❤
@CrochetWithTiffany
8 ай бұрын
I have a suggestion. I preferred to use the larger crochet hook to really keep the stitches loose enough to work into. If you would like to make a smaller size I would go with the number of stitches around the brim and then the goal is to make the beanie that certain height before you start decreasing to close. Change the number of stitches not the crochet hook. Generally that would work, but these stitches, they are not easy to work if the stitch is too tight.

Can you use worsted weight yarn
@CrochetWithTiffany
7 ай бұрын
Yes! You absolutely can! You might need to adjust the number of rows in your brim and number of rounds you need to make but what's great about this pattern is that you can adjust to measurement all you want. There is no multiple stitch count requirement. Here is a beanie size chart I like to reference for sizes. Try to go off of this. I hope it helps. 😊❤️🧶 link: pin.it/6d4hcyShl

can you use bulky yarn ?
@CrochetWithTiffany
7 ай бұрын
Yes you can! but you might want to use fewer stitches. I would adjust the brim to fit dimension and then work the length to just below dimension. You won't need so many decrease rounds either. Here's a beanie size chart I like to use that you can utilize as a reference: pin.it/6d4hcyShl

I’m sorry. This stitch naturally works up tight and it helps the looser you can make your stitches. It is a different and very interesting stitch placement. Thank you for trying so many times. ❤️🧶
