Brilliant winger who didn't get the credit he deserves. Awful knee injury ended his career at I think 28. The goal against Villa at Old Trafford I saw with my mate. Happy memories.

Interesting to note he was probably the only university graduate to also be a professional footballer and manager Tommy Docherty told him to carry on with his studies as he said “an education is a great thing to fall back on son”. That was nice of the usually abrasive Doc.

One of the most consistent players in United’s history,yet for some unexplainable reason doesn’t get mentioned with the other number 7s.A brilliant player,who if it hadn’t been for a knee injury,could well have played into the start of Fergie’s era.
