@@socialoutletssilencemetheTRUTH Yeah, I hate it when I hear of someone using Autism as an excuse for bad, offensive or dangerous behavior. I don't mean where you mess up and put your foot in your mouth and apologize (been there too much), but where someone persists in really nasty behavior and claims they can't help it. They harm not only those who run afoul of them but every Autistic person who ends up labeled as dangerous because of those who use it as an excuse. Like the kid at my daughter's school who was stalking a girl there and the parents tried to pass it off saying he didn't know better. If he's aware enough to attend school without an aide, he's able to learn what no means. Not everyone is able and that's another situation. But for the love of all things good, we've got to at least teach them what they're capable of learning. Sorry, bit of a rant. I was also pleased to see how well he behaves. It's got to be extra challenging when your kid is a grown man and you know how people are likely to react to him if he so much as stares at them a little too long. They're doing great and I hope he handled the rest of the day okay.

@@BeeWhistler I hate to say this, and it is something I’m trying to overcome. But my first boyfriend was autistic and he raped me. I was only 15 and he was 18. He blackmailed me as well, and threatened if I didn’t come over to his house for more he would show everyone pictures of us. My step sister has autism not major, but it is something I am trying to overcome, is being scared of autistic men. Women I don’t seem to have any issues with, but autistic men scare me. I tried to go to the school for help cause he was assaulting me at school, teachers literally saw it and did nothing, I’m not kidding. I tried to move seats on a few occasions but then I got into trouble for attempting to move. The school brushed it off and didn’t believe me and said “he wouldn’t do that” I’m 22 and still need therapy and I’m still scared of men, anywhere I go I have to have someone with me, I won’t go anywhere alone.

I have a few classmates who are special needs and although I’m patient and nice with them it is very easy to get uncomfortable. I’ve always hated being touched by others so a simple poke or hand on shoulder makes me very uncomfortable when it’s not someone I find close. These boys sometimes randomly come up to me and touch me when I am walking to get a lunch with my friends and I try to me as nice as I can when pulling away. Once one asked for a handshake and I gave it but it was like and iron grip and he wouldn’t let my hand go.😭

My daughter went to Disney World as part of her Make-A-Wish trip (she’s cancer-free now). We met a lot of princesses, but Tiana, along with Prince Naveen, were the absolute highlights. They really engaged with my daughter, and despite probably meeting hundred of kids already that day, were so, *so* kind and made my daughter and the rest of us all feel so welcome to be there. Unforgettable and absolute class!

A lot of the people that work at Disney as characters, (at least before they get jaded, which some do, not all), tend to be very sweet and genuine. They sought a job like this to bring people joy. @@Quorented I’m autistic as well and, although I’ve been bullied for most of my life, most of the recent bullying now that I’m no longer a kid is from people online calling me a creep/degenerate because I behave similarly. People have referred to me as “the next Chris Chan” on several separate occasions, which worries me because I know Chris Chan did some awful things, and one person even referred to my channel as a serial killer’s virtual diary. It makes me anxious that people think of me that way. My mom wants me to emphasize that I’m autistic whenever I interact with people online so that they may be more understanding.
