Con Keigher is a livestock farmer in Co Roscommon who diversified into forestry in 1996 planting 22 hectares of Sitka spruce, Norway spruce, oak and some ash.

Con also talks about how he looked after his forest over the years, ensuring that the trees were performing well.
He has carried out a first thinning operation and provides some very useful tips. He is now considering a second thinning in his forest and he has some decisions to make.
