Thank you for this informative video, I think it will be interesting if you make a video talking about how do you calculate your own profit from the project either if your just giving the design or making the full thing till the execution phase, and how do you earn profit if youre dealing with a contractor and these details, I believe it will be so helpful for the future designers

I think you can always have control over the relationship with any client. I think this can happen by proper planning that identifies expectations (that includes planning and communicating when the designer expects payment from a client). For new client, I would suggest to cover as much as possible of your “expenses” as a designer in the initial advanced payment and keep a small portion of the payment after work conclusion so that you feel comfortable providing a service and you lose the doubt or fear that a client won’t pay you. May be even think about the final payment as a “bonus” to encourage you in the delivery. Just a thought 😉

There’s one interior designer I heard who instructors designers to take 80-85% up front. And another Designer who takes 100% retainer to even work with them which is around $2,300.00.

Hi Aseel, i follow your videos and this one i particularly liked ...because i found it strange that across the globe the problems and expectations are the same...only maybe the plane is different... wish i could join you in the video and share my experiences with clients (Interesting to say the least)...

I love both of you girls! I want to share a project management software for interior designers that I have used for about 5 years. It is blessed my business so much! It’s called Mydoma studio. You have to check it out!
