This is great! I think more people should know about and play Manfredini's music. His set of concerto grossi is very nice, although there is only one movement out of all 12 concertos that is played regularly!

Bach - Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major BWV 1047 - 3. Allegro assai

You mean it look like, or do you prefer the Allegro assai of the Bach"s concerto ? The Brandeburg concerto no.2 was composed 8/10 years later. Anyway the Bach's genius is indisputable.

Thank you for sharing this. It is a magnificent trumpet concerto, definitely my favourite. It is a pity it sounds quite metallic here, an issue of some inaccurate digital recordings. Also, musicians play too quickly, soundstage sound has little depth, to the detriment of the atmosphere. As a reference my advice is to listen to Trumpet Concertos (Sony Essential Classics cd), a 1966 recording of I Solisti Veneti with the English Chamber Orchestra, Helmut Hunger and André Bernard trumpets.

Apparently these are natural trumpets, does anyone know if they are using vent holes?

They're sound seems a little bit stuffy, but I don't think it's the performer's fault... Were they playing on different horns? It doesn't sound like a modern Bb Trumpet!

what on earth is wrong with you, this guy speaks the truth. look up brandenburg 2 3rd movement. this one video shows the very same performer, friedemann immer, performing on a "common Baroque trumpet." now stop questioning an obviously intelligent person, and look it up yourself

Are you sure? Are there common Natural (Baroque) horns that can play chromatically? Sounds like piccolo trumpets to me, to be honest, which are notorious for giving trumpeters a bit of a stuffier sound.
@Ostiosti

Frank Those are definitely baroque trumpets with holes (which allow them to play chromatically). The stuffy sound in this recording and the trills are quite different to those of piccolo trumpets.
@FrankTheStud

But what exactly IS a baroque trumpet? The only baroque trumpet I know of could not play chromatically whatsoever. It still sounds like stuffy piccolo trumpets to me. Do you perhaps have any proof of the baroque trumpet you speak of? Instead of name calling you could actually educate someone?
