Avakkai is a special pickle from South India, using raw mangoes.It can be made and enjoyed through the year. It is an ideal accompaniment for curd rice, or Plain rice and pappu or just mixed with hot rice and enjoyed.

Raw mangoes 4
salt 1 cup
chilli powder 1 cup
Mustard powder 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Oil 2 cups
Methi seeds 2 tsp
garlic cloves (optional)
