I think the only reason there’s not a manhunt 3, is because of the uncomfortable nature of the game, if rockstars even scared of their own work, that’s bad😬

Yea it would make sense, it was a scary topic back then and still is to this day

They could easily release a "Manhunt 3" where combat is set to lethal or non-lethal and you play as a ex-military soldier who has the skills to do both but you get the good ending for sparing people with a zero body count. But let's be honest, Rockstar Games makes far more money re-releasing GTA 5 sixteenth times

It purely comes down to money. After Manhunt and the hot coffee thing the industry literally made changes that make a game like this impossible to do today. It would instantly get an AO rating (in the U.S) which means it couldn't be on any game console (they all banned AO rated games). That leaves PC where they definitely wouldn't make their money back on that platform alone. Then all the backlash they would get? I mean they barley got Manhunt 2 out the door and it had to be heavily censored on all platforms to actually get released. Just not worth the hassle in the slightest these days.

"Give me gore, Cash! Gore!" And that's exactly what I look for in a game: graphic and explicit violence.

I like this review. Fair criticisms, and not like other reviews where they spend the whole time propping it up like some masterpiece. I remember this game being mostly frustrating imho

In the mouth of madness, if you bring the head instead of the body, you will get the shotgun earlier in the next level.

@@INF3RN0Fury Yeah, I remember just randomly trying it out, and Starkweather said that for bringing his head, he'll have left me a present in the next area. I used to play this game religiously when I was a kid and trying different tactics and stuff, good times

Tbh, without it's controversies, it isn't manhunt. Not saying I didn't barf while playing it cause i definitely did, but i think it deserves a third game. The age of gaming now is way more depraved then back then so I'd think it be welcomed.

A third game would be really cool to see however I’m not sure if it’d even sell well in all honesty

Really makes me feel sad for todays gamers. The industry was so creative back then and developers were truly allowed to follow their best ideas. R* actually used to do games that weren't just GTA and they knocked it out of the park more often than not. Games like this or Midnight Club or the Warriors. They could do no wrong really. This game though is a a masterclass in game development. They nailed the snuff film horror aesthetic to a tee and somehow managed to pull it off with the power of a PS2 which is just insane. There's modern games that can't lay on the atmosphere anywhere close to this. The game makes you feel a wide range of emotions too. Fear, Anxiety, disgust and just high overall tension but also excitement when you managed to turn the tables. You truly go from feeling like the hunted to hunter and it does it almost entirely through gameplay not a bunch of cutscenes or collectibles that tell you so. The game design is also masterful because it keeps you on your edge from start to finish. It does a great job of keeping you on your toes. Right when you settle into a familiar rhythm it throws a wrench in the works to mix things up. Annoying at times but keeps you from getting comfortable. I think it's definitely a game that can be picked to apart to pieces in 2023 for sure. The A.I, the gunplay but when viewed through the lens of time with the proper context? Prudes will never be for it I guess but does that don't mind a bit of violence in our media? A classic for sure.

The story/premise of this game was super cool and it is what kept me wanting to progress. White Rabbit was also super fun because blasting dudes’ heads off was a great way to relieve some stress. 😅

At 16:53 if you kill that guard via execution or hitting their neck and taking his head you get a bonus in the next level
