I finally understand why the tragedy happened. After Olive and Cal's dialogue I finally did. That family was not connected in the slightest. Only Grace was. Connected to all of them. The Callings were forcing this family to connect. And they did that by ending their strongest link and force them to build ties of their own.

What are you talking about? Have you seen the previous 3 seasons? Sure, there were problems with Ben and Cal, especially Ben connecting to the family after he returned from the flight but towards the end of season 1, he's able to connect with Grace and Olive both. Ben has always been a great father. He was always great to his kids. Olive doesn't warms up to Ben in the beginning but later she does after that shoplifting incident. As for Cal, everyone is protective of him. Even Cal and Olive share a nice sibling bond. I don't know why you say family was not connected in the slightest. They were pretty much a team, finding about the meanings of Callings together and having each other's back. If that's not connection, then I don't know what is.
@JabamiLain
Жыл бұрын
@@shaily191 it's not that kind of connection I'm talking about. About being a good father, mother, sibling... I'm talking about the fact that after Grace was gone, Ben and Cal's relationship was completely ruined (I was angry at the kid, but I didn't want them to stop being a family), Olive did not have faith Eden was alive, even though she had that feeling with Cal (I know Eden wasn't her twin, but you would think family bonds transcended even that detail)... And those are the examples I can think of. They aren't many but I think they're valid. Just think about it. We are always justifying unnatural and unfair deaths as part of God's plan. And that's exactly what the Callings are. Some God's plan, using the minds of the Passengers. So that is what I am doing. Rationalizing it.

@@JabamiLain The thing with Olive knowing Cal was alive was the twin thing. The tragedy caused a lot of grief in the family it doesn’t mean they were not connected. But they were struggling in their own grief. Ben shut everyone out because he just lost his wife. That was what happened. I don’t think it was any deeper than that.

Before I get more likes or not, I need to make something clear. After I understood the Callings, I did think about forgiving Cal for dismissing his family's warnings in favor of manipulation... but that's when I remembered, Grace was a human being. Whatever reason the Callings had, they still took someone's life as if she was an object. Of course, that did not feel like a good reason to not forgive him, because I was allowing hate to prevail, so I kept thinking... And that's when it hit me. Why does it have to be revenge or forgiveness ? Why not the middle ground ? Why not justice ? Unbiased, logical and practical. The fact is, Angelina and Cal cooperated in murder and kidnapping, and the latter can't plead to have been manipulated, because he was warned by multiple people and there was evidence she could not be trusted. Worse, the damage both caused is completely irreversible. And even if the Callings do decide to make it reversible, that doesn't change neither the intention nor the damage it caused. Hence, the penalty should fit his crime. Something that may or not be irreversible, like death and its Callings. A penalty that is also 50/50, but causes as much damage to the guilty party. Please, dear members of the juri, leave potential penalties down in the comments.

@@equestrathena this isn't being manipulated by some delinquent into stealing, beating someone up or entering a gang. We're talking about a kid who was warned about a psychopath who almost burned a baby ! How could he not at least be careful around her ? (...) The Callings. Too much faith. No ! He was warned about her ! And it wasn't that kind of warning such as "She's not a good person.". It was especifically "She tried to burn your sister alive.". @@equestrathena those mistakes were never as bad as this one. But, it does feel wrong to question the opinion of a professional (your mother). And I can't argue further with you without becoming illogical. But remember my previous comment. If my theory of why the Callings allowed this to happen is correct, then Grace was handled as an object, not as a person. The Godly force has to pay its dues to us, humans. And the only way to do it right now, is by punishing its tools. Cal must be the punisher of Angelina. He must put himself at risk. Tool against tool. That way, the debt will be paid. And if there really was never a debt, then justice is still served by having him fix everything. Both sides win.

@@JabamiLain im aware of your perspective, although its very different than mine i can kind of see where your coming from. but as my mom and i discussed, he was an easily manipulated, traumatized child with cancer at the time. of course, its not a full excuse but it does explain his actions. my mom said that children who have been horribly traumatized and have someone who’s been through the same trauma, no matter how bad they are, it is so easy for that child to latch on. ESPECIALLY if he is being told by both sides (angelina and his family and the major) that he is the “holy grail” and the answer. he was very confused and has since them tried to fix his mistakes. i understand, grace was a person, an important person as well. i hope to god you dont believe that cal WANTED to kill his mother and get his younger sister abducted. if im judging correctly, youre perspective is that because cal’s trauma bonding and vulnerable child like mindset was the fault of grace’s death, then im assuming you believe that because of mic’s drunken state, she is at fault for evie’s death. because, everyone tells you, you shouldnt drink and drive! but mic didnt listen and someone got killed in the process. obviously i dont believe this, i believe it was a mistake, but im just judging by the statements youre making. i do appreciate you engaging with me, its nice to go back and forth on ideas.
